Poker
I'm looking to upgrade my protective gear and I've noticed that leat seems to be a popular brand for riders here and on YouTube. Is there anything that makes them better than other brands like O'Neal, Raven, Alpinestar or Acerbis? I've mostly looked at cross/enduro gear for MC riding. Popular Post Cerbera
I have tried a number of pads and pressure suits over the years, but the last year replaced all that with Leatts and have been a lot happier / felt a lot safer since I did. Leatt stuff is great overall, but not without its inconsistencies and variations in value for money across the range. For example, the classic Dual Axis shin / knee guards we all seem to have are absolutely brilliant value for money at around £70 or so per pair, extremely durable and comfortable, and are wisely selected as the first line of defence for your knees and shins. Very comfortable in use, don't shift in crashes, and have saved my knees more times than I can remember... Likewise the bodysuits are fully worth the money (but DO shift a bit in crashes - watch those elbows!), and, unlike other pressure suits I have tried mine is still going strong a year and 3 crashes later, with no stitching coming undone, no fabric ripping, and all zips continuing to work flawlessly. It's a design that really works (if you can get the straps tight enough to hold it in place - I am very thin, so mine needs help). However, one anomaly is their MX wrist guards, which, for me at least are horrendously bad value at £150 per single one ! Buying those for EUC was a full-on mistake - they are not suitable for our purposes (no palm sliders) and the ones we do need should cost about a tenner ! There haven't been many jacket style armors with L2 shoulder pads. Do you know if they are A or B size? For me the area of coverage is equally important to the protection level. I don't know if they are A or B but they look pretty big.
