Soup
Hi I'm a relatively new rider and only had this mten3 for a month. I've never crashed this mten3 and have only had minor drops from learning how to ride it in the beginning. Wondering if it could be the connectors on the board that could have gotten unplugged?
RockyTop
I don’t have a Gotway with lights. Are the lights turned on in the app? I have a KingSong with lights. Half the lights on one side stopped working after 3 months. It was a bad connection on the LED strip.
Soup
Yes, lights are turned on in the app and nothing happens on the wheel itself
Soup
Update: I took the wheel apart to take a look inside and everything looked normal and the connectors look as they would have out of the factory with all of them plugged in secured with the white goop. I guess I just got unlucky and it a connection just broke somewhere on the board/where I can't see.
redsnapper
where the led strip plugs into board will be 3 pin connector - turnon lights in app then from the board test with dmm for 5v coming from 2 end pins - if 5v then issue is with strip which u can fix ( replace, etc) . if no 5v at board then not so ez fix...
Camenbert
I had that exact same issue with MCM5 after water damage, with no 5V on USB Port as well. That was the MB (the wheel was still fully functional, including BT), however the LED strip is not working since, with the new MB. Posted here but no luck so far. I guess these LED strip are not bullet proof. In your case, a defect on one of two might have burn the low voltage module. Testing the headlight is easy (external 5V power supply, red +, black -) Edited May 23, 2021 by Camenbert
Soup
I tested the usb port and can confirm that it's also not working so I guess the 5v output on the mb is dead
Camenbert
Yeah, if I had to do it again, knowing the LED Strip is crap, I wont change the MB but add a DC/DC module instead, with a fuse, a switch, and a red LED strip. $5 total on Aliexpress.
