Popular Post Skeptikos Posted May 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2021 (edited) Chest protection isn't a standard feature in motorcycle jackets. But since EUC riders are a lot more likely to fall forward, it seems more important for us. I didn't find an easy way to search for jackets with chest protection, so I'm leaving this list of jackets here for reference. If anyone has one of these I'm curious to know what you think of it! I'm also wondering if there are brands I missed. The pattern I've noticed is that either a brand will offer no chest protectors, or it'll have a whole collection of jackets with chest protectors. Each brand has more expensive jackets that I didn't add here, so this isn't an exhaustive list. Alpinestars T-Faster Luc Viper V2 Dianese Air Master Air-Track Air Flux D1 Held Smoke Tropic 3.0 Jakata Knox Urbane Pro MK2 Zephyr Pro Komine (along with chest protectors, Komine offers CE side/rib protectors, which I haven't seen anywhere else) JK-014 Riding JK-116 Protect JK-103 Carbon JK-144 Reflect Lazyrolling (exclusively at eRides) Armored Reflective Jacket Macna Orcano Aerocon Sonar Modeka Khao Neox Viper LT Pilot Slate Direct REV'IT! Airwave 3 Tornado 3 Outback 3 RS Taichi RSJ331 Torque RSJ320 Crossover RSJ325 Racer Rukka StretchAir Airventur Rimo-R Shima Jet Mesh Pro Rush Spidi Tech Armor Viaterra Munro Aerostich also has jackets with chest protection, but wow they are expensive. EUC Forest Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Perhaps you can put velcro on a regular mc jacket / hoodie to use chest protectors (usually they are velcro attached, no pouches). Quote
Skeptikos Posted May 25, 2021 Author Posted May 25, 2021 (edited) I was wondering about that, because I saw that some of these jackets just use velcro attachments. I think most have actual pockets though. The Sportbiketrackgear.com guy says a bunch of people don't even use that, and just have the tension of their jackets hold up the protector. But if I wanted to use a jacket that way, I think I'd have to try that out in person before buying it. Edited May 25, 2021 by Skeptikos Quote
EUC Forest Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I have the Urbane Pro mk1 from Knox and it's a velcro attachment for the chest. I just got the chest pad, not tried in a ride yet but it's not too bulky (level 1) and quite soft. Doesn't cover a huge area, just top of ribcage. I looked at the Held summer jackets, they look ok and are affordable, also using velcros for chest. I got some "D3O" (aka "DSSO") chest pads from aliexpress coming in, will try with a velcro on my regular mc hoodie/jacket. Quote
