Johnson Lai
Hi all. It's been widely suggested that batteries (from phones to electric cars) should be kept between 20% to 80% charge for maximum longevity. I've been trying to keep my wheel in the low 90s. Do you/should you charge your wheel to 100% on a regular basis? Are you worried about degradation? Thanks!
rainystateguy
I don't worry about it. I saw a video a while back from either Marty or Duf regarding this subject and his take on it was that any gain in battery life wasn't worth the bother. I think he said that by the time the battery is degraded to the point where it makes a difference, the technology of both the machine and the battery will have advanced so far that buying something new will be an advance, not just a replacement. I tend to agree. I have a Chevy Bolt and I feel the same way about its battery too. I know many folks who won't charge their electric car over 80%. I am not one of those people.
