V12 Battery Packs in MSP

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to repuporse the battery packs from my V12 and put them in my battery-less MSP with the help of a local PEV battery repair/builder I know of. Has anyone done something similar to this? They're the same voltage and whatnot, so getting them repacked into the shape of the typical Gotway 900wh packs should be fairly trivial. My only concern is with the cables coming from the battery packs, the V12 has two cables from each pack (main power and charging), but the MSP has three cables (main power, charging and an additional clip cable apparently used for balancing the voltage between the packs. Would anyone happy to know anything this additional cable and if it's necessary if I'm not using the original packs (since the Inmotion packs don't have a third balancing cable)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found some pics on the interwebs of the clip connecter (below), but not much info about it unfortunately.

The third cable (to my knowledge) goes only to the other pack(s) and is for overcharge protection. If you don't use it the pack will work in single pack mode only.

So Begode packs are simple and contain all the protection/charging circuits.

If the V12 packs don't contain this (control board managed) then you don't have protection.

Also beware of fuses set to max currents of V12. A begode wheel might exceed = faceplant.

I suggest to study V12 packs or swap bms.

Amazing, thank you for all the info! I'll bring it up with the battery builder and hopefully he'll go through it all and see what's what and change anything if needed. Cheers.
