Popular Post Rawnei
So since I got myself a Patton of course I'm making 3D printing designs for it! 😄 I provide my designs freely of charge on thingiverse for anyone to download and print but I don't provide printing services so you will have to print it yourself, ask a friend with a 3D printer or buy printing as a service from somewhere.  Patton - BD Seat Extender https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6150404 A seat extension for the Patton BD Seat. What is the BD seat? It's a pretty nice kit on AliExpress by "BeiDouQX" that includes a seat and side cushions for the Patton which is also compatible with the Patton trolley handle by flipping up the rear part of the seat, you can find it if you search for "LeaperKim Veteran Patton Seat" on AliExpress. So what is the point of this seat extension? While the BD seat is pretty nice I prefer to sit a bit higher up so I made this extension just for that, I also designed it so that it has a small friction based locking/slotting mechanism so that the rear part is secured in place to minimize risk of it flipping up on it's own while riding. I've added 3 versions in anticipation that people want options, personally I use the Large 48mm version and I'm very happy with that but I suspect some people might want shorter or taller versions. 33mm, 48mm and 63mm is the height from the top of the BD seat to the top of the extended seat so it's basically how much is added on top of the BD seat.  Patton - Footlock Extender https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6150405 A footlock extender for the Patton. The footlock on the Patton is pretty nice and functions decently but it's also a bit small and angled in such a way that you lose a lot of support around your toes. This extender adds width (making the footlock 6cm wide and flat instead of angled) as well as 10mm of soft cushioning below the footlock, the extender is installed by just slotting it over the original footlock and is kept in place by friction. If you don't want 10mm extra space below there is a Width_Only version that only adds 4mm below.  Patton - Fender Extender https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6150402 A fender extender for the Patton. The fender on the Patton stops pretty short and allows for water and dirt to spray up and behind meaning that it does a poor job of what it's supposed to be doing. This is a simple extender that adds quite a bit of protection and stops water and dirt from spray upwards and to some degree backwards.  Sherman S & Patton - Suspension Adjustment Caps https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6059508 2023-07-04: Uploaded a small keyring tool that you can keep on your keyring instead of having something permanently mounted on the suspension and not worrying about losing them. Adjustment caps for the rebound and compression dampening adjusters on the Sherman S and Patton for easy adjustments on the fly while out riding. This print consists of two parts: One knob for adjusting dampening, this part should be printed in a hard material (PLA is fine), this knob has pretty exact dimensions and will have to be pressed into the slot and will sit in there by friction. One outer protector for the know to help it stay in place, this part should be printed in a soft material such as TPU and is held on with friction. Together they are pretty robust and won't fall off that easily, tested on gnarly technical off-road with pedal clips and all.  Patton - Bumper Cushions https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6159661 Cushions for the Patton Bumpers. The Patton is a pretty robust wheel with some strong plastic bumpers on it, these cushions are meant to add 3 things: 1) Soften the impact a bit in case of a crash 2) Protect from cosmetical damage 3) Add some extra style The cushions are designed so that all screws are exposed so that they can stay on even during disassembly of the wheel. The bottom rear cushions also lowers the gap between the kickstand and the fender so that less dirt will spray up that way.  Sherman S & Patton - Parking Stand https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6077662 A parking stand for the Sherman S and the Patton. Both the Sherman S and the Patton has a built in kickstand that is pretty sturdy but putting them on a stationary stand will make them take up less space in your home or storage area as the wheel will be upright instead of leaning. This stand is designed in such a way that most of the weight from the wheel will actually rest on the floor so that the 3D printed part does not need to support the full weight of the wheel.  Patton - Pedal Risers https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6169413 Pedal risers for the Patton stock pedals. Pedal risers add ergonomic comfort for your toes and also increase grip with grub screws.  Patton - Custom DIY Rear Light https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6254255 A custom DIY rear light for the Patton. I wanted a solid red light on my Patton that didn't blink all the time and also increasing the visibility overall so I designed this mount for a 5V neon led strip which doesn't require data just positive and negative. This project requires some DIY tinkering such as soldering and gluing, only start this project if you are comfortable with that or know someone who can help you (soldering is a good skill to learn!).  Sherman S & Patton - DIY Custom Light Mount https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6257111 A custom light holder for the Sherman S and the Patton. ATTENTION: This is a DIY project and not just a 3D print, it will take some tinkering like soldering and gluing and some patience, start the project if you are comfortable with that or have someone to help you with the necessary steps. I had two main goals with this project: 1) Switch the stock headlamp to a lamp that doesn't blind oncoming traffic. 2) Add DRL (Daylight Running Light) for visibility during the day. Check thingiverse for all details, shopping list, schematic, assembly instructions.  Sherman S & Patton - Charge Port Water Protector https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6292996 Charge port water protectors for the Sherman S and the Patton. The charge port on the Sherman S and the Patton are weak-points when it comes to water resistance and riding in rain, due to their position and flimsy rubber cover it's possible for water to get in there and worst case if you are really unlucky it can cause a short, these 3D printed covers attaches on-top of the rubber cover as an extra layer of protection making it much more difficult for water to find it's way in to the actual charge port, since it's attached with velcro it is easy to remove and put back on for when you are charging. Also recommended but optional: Buy some plastic film like the kind that protects car windows and put it over the display, the display on both the Sherman S and the Patton should have rubber seals underneath the buttons to protect from water ingress (unless missed in factory) but keep in mind that all the electronics are beneath there so better safe than sorry and cover it up with a thin plastic film. Daytonalott
Nioce stuff! Have you thought about a shock tower cover that minimizes the battery case edge on the Patton? The edge wears on my inner calf after some riding

As I already wrote on Thingiverse I tried 4 different lamps and designing mounts for them to find what works, it is difficult to mount lamps on Sherman S and Patton due to space constraints, there is cramped space above for charge ports, not a lot of room on the sides, motor is moving below and you have to make sure it doesn't hit the lamp when suspension is fully compressed, this is the best lamp available for all things considered. I spent literally months on this project ordering and waiting for different lamps, testing and finding what works and what doesn't. If they ever make the same lamp with white/white that is another story but such a lamp doesn't exist today. BTW the yellow light is not bad in reality, it is actually good, a friend commented that it felt cozy when riding at night, also the high beam is white not yellow, one could potentially use high beam only, it still uses the same anti-glare lens. Atm. for sale is yellow/white, we would see if it arrives
Kataja
I had these footlock extenders printed last week, with the extra +20mm. They're nice, but I think I cannot use anywhere else but maybe on jump tracks. The reason is that my foot is now forced too back, so it makes impossible to gain speed like before, the toes are just not there to push the speed. I have tried around -9° tilt so far to fix this, maybe it works but then the bodyweights on quads too much and maneuverability sucks. Now the blocks are in the uppest position, can't get them any upper to make any room for better foot position. Maybe the walls are a tad too thin too, once you get the pad hit n damaged somehow it's really too flexy after that around the hole as the support is gone. Other than that, they're nice blocks and fit perfectly! Just consider this weight distribution problem if you need to stay on your toes. Edited October 19, 2023 by Kataja

CalebKale
Hi folks, I just remixed the Patton seat extender from a 2-piece design into a 1-piece design! It maintains excellent access to the trolly handle and no gap between parts means you can sit longer before your rear gets tired! Check it out! https://makerworld.com/en/models/436643#profileId-341795 Cheers Edited April 20 by CalebKale
