alcatraz
Hey fellow riders... My wheel (tesla v1) just went over 10kkm and I'm noticing that it's quite old and dirty (but reliable so far). I'm told that I shouldn't ride in the rain but occasionally I still do. My fear is to fry something by water ingress or corrosion. I don't think I can even find replacement control boards for my wheel and I'm not too keen on having a failure mid ride. Who is, right? I'm curious if there is a treatment for circuit boards to make them more durable to the elements? Like a deep clean and a coating spray of some kind. What can be coated and what can't? Thanks for reading and/or commenting! Appreciate it.
alcatraz
Seems like I'm going to have to take the plunge. I'll order some coating compounds and let you know how it went.
Globewheel
how did it go what compound did you use?
alcatraz
Haven't done it yet. I read that the boards come treated already. I would like to try though. Right now I'm focusing on upgrading the tesla to a 16x3in tire. Then I really want to waterproof it properly. Like silicone the whole shell. I want to be able to ride in rain confidently. I bet I need to add a schottky diode to the charge port too.
