quiksilver884
Howdy everyone, I fell out of the scene for a minute, but have still been enjoying my little ninebot. I haven’t been in a position to buy an upgraded wheel but am hoping to do so with this upcoming stimulus assuming it goes through. I was sold on the msp prior to disappearing, but in my absence the rs-t has released. It looks like a great upgrade in just about every way from the msp, aside from the bearing issues. Probably 90% of my riding will be on pavement as a commuter/joy riding, but I also hope to do some trail riding in dirt and inevitably a little mud. I’m really worried about the bearing issues constantly haunting me. Should this be a real concern or have they done enough to address this on newer releases? (Or are the fixes simple enough it’s not worth fretting about). Or am I better off just hunting down an msp and foregoing the worry (and any idea where to get one if that’s the case)? Not shockingly I had a hard time finding any official word from Gotway(also apparently begode now?) on the issues. If this has already been talked about a bunch I apologize I didn’t see anything at quick glance on my phone. Thanks for any advice in advance, Cameron
quiksilver884
I’m also not opposed to the rs-s version. I originally wanted the torque model bc I weigh around 225 but have since read that the speed would handle my weight no problem. So if they had more reliable bearings for whatever reason that would be an option as well
RagingGrandpa
RS C30 ('speed') and C38 ('torque') use the same bearing design, so there's no real difference in durability between them. RS has significant issues with body sealing and bearing fit. The only benefit of the RS vs MSP was the stronger axle, which is needed for stunts and high jumps. If you're not planning to get airborne with your EUC, MSP is a much better bet. Search used; or try to find new stock from china (chicway). quiksilver884
Thanks for the reply Raging. I'm not much of a stunt guy at 36 anymore lol. I fractured my arm learning to ride my baby wheel so just going is enough for now haha. I do think the MSP is the safer option. Sucks b/c the RS obviously has some quality of life improvements, plus the shear ease of obtaining one now. Stinks they don't just have "the fix" to make it right, but it seems more complex as everyone keeps having to fight the issues
