Spotwelder question

Hi everyone...

So I got this cheap spotwelder to build my battery pack.

I have a question about the nickel strips. Because this welder is kind of weak I need to modify my strategy a bit.

I've seen that there are nickel strips with little slits in them right between where the spotwelder electrodes go. This is so that the current goes through the next layer and not the nickel strip only.

I can't use these nickel strips because my pack will have a custom design. However it did give me an idea. Instead of bying single strips of nickel maybe I can get a narrower width and simply place two of them side by side with a small gap between. This will have the same effect as having the slit as the current has to travel through the next layer.

I've never seen anyone to do like this so I'm wondering if it's an idea worth pursuing. What do you think?

Thank you for reading... and commenting./a
