v8nice
On the Ks s18, is it possible to replace only the cells of the two 10s1p batteries (rear) with Samsung 50s cells to have less voltage drop? Without changing the cells of the 20s1p batteries. Would that cause problems?
alcatraz
They sag differently so there are going to be unequal voltages either under load or after load. Unequal voltages have on some wheels resulted in "please repair". If the wheel doesn't distinguish the different pack voltages and the batteries are able to constantly equalize their voltages (meaning they're connected in parallel without circuits that can disconnect or reduce currrent between them), then it is possible. alcatraz
Basically, if you see all the packs as one big one, but internally there are multiple 20s1p of different makes. That should work. But in today's day and age the manufacturers love to monitor pack inconsistencies and disable the wheel immediately if there are any. Search for S18 becoming disabled due to replacement of a single pack. Combining old with new has a similar effect.
