East Coast
Hi All, I'm still very new to EUC (still learning how to ride too) and I have accumulated various types of helmets (I use a bike and a scooter too), and protective gear (I still don't know if I will use in different weather conditions). I've been looking online for ways to organize my stuff without mounting anything to the wall and w/out taking up too much space. So far, I have thought of getting a 3-shelf mesh storage. However, was hoping to find something more functional. Any tips, ideas, pictures, ... ?
Popular Post .....
Big cheap plastic totes. Grey 18gallon $7 is my flavor. Throw the mess in there and toss a lid on it. Open shelves and mesh are dust/cobwebb/mice and mold magnets around here. When you collect even more crap, buy another tote, stack on top. If you're smart and do this with the same NON-see thru totes for everything, its harder to tell when yet ANOTHER tote shows up. Welcome to the crew, you're gna LOVE that wheel of yours. Don't forget the RollNZ cover for it. Lucky us, the 18XL needs nothing much for farkles. Edited March 25, 2022 by ShanesPlanet 3
East Coast
@ShanesPlanet Thanks! Didn't think of this! LOL I def got the cover! It's helped protect the wheel and somewhat the mudguard The dust is a good point which I didn't think of. The one you're saying seems like this one: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-Plastic-18-Gallon-Tote-Box-Titanium-Set-of-6/716536537 I do like the following since it looks more organized: https://www.amazon.com/Mythinglogic-Storage-Organizer-Baskets-Equipment/dp/B07RHD12BH https://www.amazon.com/Kinghouse-Equipment-Organizer-Storage-Baskets/dp/B083DRW4DS/ Edited March 25, 2022 by East Coast

It's helped protect the wheel and somewhat the mudguard If you live in a flood area or have SERIOUS rainforest type problems. You may want to look into air tight containers and invest in gallons of those reuseable silica pellets. I live in a VERY humid area, and I find that opening the totes every now and then, does the trick. You definitely cant leave cardboard on the floors or things against the block walls in my basement. Just warning you, as I'd hate for you to tote something up and come back 3 yrs later to find fabric showing mold. Shelves or totes, both solutions, depending on the exact needs. I stay away from shelves that are light or multiple landings. I always end up wishing the light shelves could hold more weight. Or a certain shelf is just a hair taller. For shelves, I go and buy the heavier duty from the hardware store. Basic 4 post 5 level, adjustable heights. Safety gear is such a random lightweigh mess, I prefer totes. I also store in a dusty basment. Horses for courses bro... Edited March 25, 2022 by ShanesPlanet
East Coast
@ShanesPlanet Oh wow! I live in NJ in a city across the river from NYC and in this area we don't have any floods or anything like that. We have pretty much identical NYC weather here. I went ahead and ordered this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083DRW4DS/ Anything I don't end up using too much I can move somewhere else that's enclosed.

I dont use most my gear often, so a tote works for me. I do leave my suit hanging up in the closet tho. When I ride a lot, I don't put everyday items in totes, I simply toss them around the dungeon. A small shelf would proabably be a more proper solution, especially for those with lots of daily gear and/or multiple riders. I find that being too organized, doesnt allow me to run around and get mad looking for sh*t. I enjoy being mad, so its kinda a win/lose situation...
