AKSkipper
Hello: I am trying to create and install my own 'power pads' on top of the factory pads of my S18 and I ran into a weird problem: no tape or glue would stick to them. I tried 3M double sided tape and contact cement with no success. Did anyone figure this one out? There must be something because factory pads are attached very well to the shell and it looks like some kind of tape. Maybe, some kind of special treatment of surface is required? Thanks in advance
PourUC
Hi, the stock pads are glued onto harder plastic. Just peel off the stock pads and then use them as a shape guide for your diy pads. It's very hard to get things to stick to the stock pads. You may need to sand them down. If you do peel them off, try and use a butter knife to aid with removal or you may tear them.
AKSkipper
Thanks, Pouruc, Actually, I had some success having applied thin coat of super glue on factory pads. After it dries up, 3M tape sticks pretty good to it.
