tymerTHEcheezGUY Posted June 8, 2019 Share Posted June 8, 2019 Has anyone attempted or considered a fan upgrade on the 18xl? Was on a ride this afternoon, bright sunshine 86°F, just cruising around town. Wasn't going fast or hard, no quick braking either, averaging 18-20 mph as per wheellog. Anyway, got 2 separate high temperature warnings from the wheel. One after about 5 miles of riding. I promptly stopped at a shady bench and let the wheel cool off (down to 51C from 60C) And another again after about 5 miles of similar riding. The apps (kingsong and wheellog) both show fan is running and I can hear it as well. This just made me wonder if it were possible to upgrade the fan to something either a little larger or maybe more one with a higher rpm?? Any insights or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. The temps here in Kansas in the summer can easily hit 115 and I'd hate to miss out on summer riding due to a wheel that overheats. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
