Threshold braking and slip angle on the Patton

Recommended Posts

My hottest corner on my practice track

Think you need a really stiff wheel to turn at the limit of tire grip. Anyone get the tire to chirp during an apex yet?

I'm working my way there slowly while practicing on a 3-4ft wide track to force tighter braking distances.

EUC works like traction control when over braking (don't push past the tire squeal).

Started by experimenting on dirt and braking hard enough for the wheel to slide, got used to that feeling and built my confidence to try and lock the wheel at over 33mph.

Result is minimal braking distance, and plenty of confidence to start turns earlier/later.

Ive had multiple slip outs from cornering over 35mph, I think we are approaching the limits of a single tire.
