Contest For EUC Companies: First 16" EUC With Seat + Extreme Battery

Assuming nobody has created such a wheel yet, I'd like to see a 16" wheel designed like the KS-18S.

Small 16" wheel, but tall body packing 2400-3400 wh worth of battery, with a seat.

If the little ACM can pack 1600 wh worth of battery, imagine what a tall bodied 16" EUC could pack...

The 2.5" thick wheel size of the InMotion V10 would probably be the best wheel width for this wheel, as the emphasis would be on comfort and all day/two day cruising.

Bonus prize for the company that packs in additional useful camping features like a cigarette lighter type 12v output for using electrical devices and charging the wheel through solar panels.

We saw the Speedyfeet guys embark on a 1000 mile journey with their Gotway Monsters.

Perhaps a smaller wheel size with more battery size and more electricity options would allow extreme long distance adventures the ability camp in tents rather than hotels some nights, or to travel great distances off-grid through the use of solar panel charging of the wheel.

Being able to connect 3 chargers to the wheel would also be great for 1-2 hour coffee shop stops so that hotel expenses can be minimized.

A seat with adjustable height would also be ideal for Iron Butt level extreme distance riding where comfort is everything. If a trolley handle can be extendable, why not an extendable seat?

Winner of this contest gets a thread bump, and probably a $200 deposit from me.

Yes, this!

Although it's gonna have to have a design more appealing than the tall-body KS18's, as that's the main detractor for many riders (not me though!).

And might as well do 16" x 3", as this is a very common tire sizing.

If King Song wanted to make this wheel, they could probably re-use many/most parts from the 18S and 16S wheels to make the new wheel without much R+D expenses.

Another idea would be to just use an 18S and see if you could add one or two more 840wh battery packs externally. like under the seat.

From EWheels:

  • 18S 840Wh can be upgrade later with an additional 840Wh battery, currently on backorder

4 of those 840wh batteries would equal 3,360wh of battery.

And perhaps the 12V cigarette lighter outlet power supply could also be rigged up by someone with good electrical know-how.

Just as there are Outfitter companies that convert trucks/vans to heavy duty off-road or RV vehicles after market, maybe some company like EWheels or something will get into the EUC Outfitter business and sell modified versions of wheels for hard-core long-distance or off-grid purposes.
