Marty Backe
Join us for a long river-loop ride, approximately 45-miles. A typical 1600wh or above wheel can make this ride, although I've completed it on my 1300wh ACM. You know your wheel. We will depart Downey at ~7:30am, travel south on the Rio Hondo river to Long Beach, explore the Queen Mary area, travel to Seal Beach, and then return via the San Gabriel River. We will meet at the Stonewood Mall parking lot, near Sears. Here is the exact spot: https://goo.gl/maps/S8bJC3aKqaB2 Expect the ride to last 4 to 5 hours depending on the level of socialization @nbxpq3 @Sketch @Roll Model @enigma35 @csmyers @noisycarlos @Questor @swvision @Ando Melkonyan @captainwells @Tjtripp @Sven @unowheel @Mushuukyou @YoshiSkySun @NBC44 @Jrkline "Wheel Whisperer" @Stan Onymous @Alsayyad @Marvin Ong @HeavyGoing @Kimosabi @zentype @serfy @n2eus @Peter Q Hope to see you there
meepmeepmayer
7:30 am? Are you trying to get people not to come?

It's my way of weeding out the non-serious riders Seriously, this is a 4 to 5 hour ride and some of us (me at least) have some other things we need to accomplish that day. I take it that you're not a morning person

meepmeepmayer
Yea, and it's 16:30 here. No problem then May I call you at 9:30 pm here (only 3:30 am for you) while we're at it? Phone # plz I just had a visceral reaction to the thought of having to meet at 7:30 (God knows when you have to get up to prepare and drive to the meeting spot). But I'd probably come anyways (if I were in California), to get the chance to meet the famous Marty Backe and his hoodlums (*shopping cart scene*), and because I'm a serious rider (despite definitely NOT being a morning person - how are you supposed to have 3am night rides if you have to get up a few hours later?) Fortunately for me I only live ~1/2-mile from the meetup spot - the benefits of organizing a ride Some of the guys that I have to ride with are truly lawless - I can't film everything that goes on during these rides

Was that the flight you had (sans Mrs. Rehab) out for some specialist cyclo-therapy?

noisycarlos
Oh man. This looked fun. I don't why I'm not getting notifications from the forum. Hopefully I'll get one for the next one.

Hopefully I'll get one for the next one. I long time ago I used to send out Message notifications for group rides, and the Forum software will then send everyone an e-mail. But I stopped doing that because the Forum software makes it difficult to distribute messages to more than a handful of people. So now you have to visit the forum to spot any announcements. It was a fun ride. To make you feel better about missing this one, it was a 45+ mile ride so your ACM wouldn't have made it (unless you have a new long range wheel).
