The Fat Unicyclist Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Okay everyone, here's a question for you all... While updating Mrs. TFU about the recent happenings on "the forum," she asked me whether she should just outright join (so she can read everything for herself). But I'm not sure if that is the best option , so I thought it best to ask you all !!! She happens to be a wittier / prettier version of me - just as unfiltered (if not more so) and definitely more opinionated... But for some reason she agreed to consider your combined opinions before signing up (though I have no idea why, as I have already told her all about you all)! So the question is, do you all want an "online conscience" commenting when you least expect (or want) it, or do I need to break it to her that we are good the way we are? I should point out that one of the spin-off benefits might be a number of off-topic posts about things like "crotchet wheel covers," or her baking - eg. Pavlova (@Bob Eisenman) - but also remember that only I get to actually enjoy it (the baking that is), as I am after all "The Fat Unicyclist!"- unless of course you are visiting New Zealand, in which case you are more than welcome to share at mine. So what say you all? Is this acceptable, or do I need to stop this before it is too late?
meepmeepmayer Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 My opinion is clear: 's In seriousness: she should just make an account and see how it goes. We'll live. You'll live. She'll live. The world will keep turning.
nute Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Does she “wheel”? Is this a ploy on your behalf to try to get her wheeling? I think you need to consider the pro’s and con’s. Pro- Pinterest in wheeling and therefore an excuse to purchase additional wheels, one for her and possibly a spare for each of you. Con- She might find out how much they actualy cost rather than what you told her they cost....
dmethvin Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Hey we don't have complex rules here. Everyone is welcome! Keep the posts in the appropriate section for their subject. Sometimes the rules must be different down there in New Zealand. I understand you have a Prime Minister who is pregnant? See, in the rest of the world the politicians screw us.
Marty Backe Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 We need to have active women here and by the sounds of it, your wife would be a good fit and would be and to stand up to the various sexist remarks some guys make Does this mean that we'll have to endure dumb male jokes
Rehab1 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 If your lovely wife is an advocate for riding EUCs I say let’s find her an awesome avatar and sign her up immediately! Also tell her I will gladly donate a percentage of my reps if she would kindly represent me in the future.
Master Blaster Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Will her profile picture be as good as yours??
EternalEnigma Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 How comfortable would she feel about you riding after reading @Rehab1's thread?

I have already told her about that... As l am already have wires and screws holding me together l am technically "made of tougher stuff" (as is @Rehab1 now too)... What this means is that she is used to me doing what I want regardless making hospital visits, so it should all be good!
dbfrese Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Yes, especially if she does more than lurk! I'd like to hear from a non - riders perspective on this insane hobby of ours. And it`d be fun to see you two get into a few public spats as well! Oh yeah, I'd also like to be able to vote on several different avatar options for Mrs. TFU!

Where are your Home Depot screws and bailing wire located?

But the "discussions" are inevitable so just wait a while...

Nice job! Pretty color! My belly and chest now have bruises. They must have placed their elbows on my chest when torquing my arm during surgery. Selfie shot? What...Mrs. FU ( that doesn’t look right) was afraid to take your photo? This feels similar to the three guys in the movie Jaws comparing their shark bites. Cause of accident if I can ask?

THE NIPPLE!

I broke it from a "hover board" fall - wheels under-powered, too small and independent of each other - but then we were also mucking around a little. Then I went to Auckland for work - took the selfie as the bruise "flourished" - then went to the US for two weeks (work) then came back and got patched up.
Hunka Hunka Burning Love Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Although I'm a big fan of the "Free the Nipple" movement , I'll have to take a hard pass on seeing TFU's nipple as Rehab's was difficult to unsee even with all the photoshopping. Nooot that you don't have a nice shapely nipple, @Rehab1. Far be it for me to be a nipple-snob. At least it wasn't too hairy, that's all I'm saying. Anyone see Baywatch? Okay, time for me to go back into my self-imposed lurker exile meditation self-reflection mode before this thread takes a turn for the worse. And sure Mrs. TFU is always welcome to join in on the fun! And we won't nipple discriminate if she wants to share some photos.

That must have been extremely painful traveling around for weeks with a broken olecranon. Do you have full range of motion? The bad thing is that my son’s mother-in-law fell off one 5 months ago. After surgery and months of therapy her wrist has not fully recovered. My wife now has that spade hidden up her sleeve.

I honestly thought it was just a bruise for the whole trip away! When I was back Mrs. TFU sent me to the doctor because of the lump (that I thought was just a burcitis). My GP then sent me for an x-ray, which I "got around to" a few days later... The radiographer told me I had to go to the hospital urgently (because I was supposed to be in agony). And once there the bone guy (can't think of the right name) spent half an hour making me move different ways while he looked at the x-ray, shaking his head and saying I shouldn't be able to do that. In the end I scheduled my "urgent" surgery for 10 days out (as I had another work trip already planned). And while away I worked out that holding my arm in just the right position while flexing allowed me to wiggle my olecranon process... And I know what you're thinking... Total chick magnet! Wiggling always works like that...
dbfrese Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 So the last post was on St. Valentine's Day. Did you forget to get Mrs. TFU flowers or chocolates? Did she decide that she already spent enough time with you without joining the forum, or did she join already under some other name and she's been posting without our knowledge? Does her username happen to be exoplanet?? All of these are questions that demand answers!!!!1

Instead I go with random events (flowers, dinner, et cetera) at times I haven't done anything wrong. Basically trying to keep the balance in the black! And l don't know if she has joined - I must ask her - but she is definitely not exoplanet!

No... "Home Depot" is what American spell checkers autocorrect "Mitre 10" into. As for sourcing my parts... The surgery was done as a house-call, so it was lucky I have a bunch of bits in my garage...
