First off Sweden needs and used to encourage these types of immigration to coax people from warm climes to the freezer for half a year. It would be inhumane to not offer them this. Anyone that used to read the back of the Riverfront Times would see Russian brides all over the place in ads. So its not just Africa thats doing this. Ask Trump.

I didnt disregard the FBI stats and infact I used them to prove another point about white males murdering eachother with cars and booze.

The reason why CEOs, Movie stars, and Sports stars make more money and have skyrocketed salaries since the late 70's is the opening of international markets. When you are making money on a global scale instead of just a local or regional, your salary goes up. This was in the Economist from last year in May. Women make more on the median but not as a whole because women can work for longer since they live longer. There was a study that included the hourly wage for a housewife and calculated the work done at about $50,000/year. Dont know if that study included it. This is partly because they menstrate and their heart attack numbers dont begin until about a decade after men.

One thread runs true to all of your example. Someone else is always to blame for getting something for a supposed nothing, and the reader is always the victim. I am always skeptical of these types of studies since most of them are done by activists trying to raise money for a cause. Its always hard to prove that a negative didn't really happen, didnt really happen. For instance, how do I know a part of the moon couldnt be made out of cheese or could have at one point. I dont, but now that you mention it I am a lunatic for queso fresco.

There is a great book called Damned Lies and Statistics by Joel Best. Its on Amazon kindle. He is an academic and a sociologist, so he just studies for knowledge for a University, not for a cause. Thats why no one has heard of him. Except for statisticians. He also has a great one about exaggerations in our Reward everyone society, and the education system. He is a really great read and actually shows you how he has dispelled many urban myths, like razor blades being in candy.for halloween. Never happened.

@Stan Onymous

Murder is a premeditated crime whereas drunk driving is negligence. Would you like drunk driving to be equated with premeditated murder?

To me, I would not, because a drunk driver has a different intent to a youth with a gun who walks over and deliberately unloads into another person. Such an ambush seems unspeakably vicious compared to the clumsy drunk driver. Your opinion is different.

Uber drivers still have a wage gap although Freakoeconomics studied and concluded the wage gap was entirely choice driven (by the drivers).

@Stan Onymous, what would it take to have equal outcomes for everyone?

Happened to me in HK too (the only day I rode there) when I was with my Generic and EUCs where still allowed to fly (with carrying the battery). I remember it was an old lady and I was riding pretty well, safely and distant from people (or hopping if I was nearby), so I kept on going and no one seemed to bother about her attitude. She said something in Cantonese I guess, my Mandarin is not so good today so I would not even grasp a thing of Cantonese 3 years ago. Getting back home I did some search on internet but couldn't find much about the status of EUCs there at that time and I was suspecting that maybe there's no status for such devices or not allowed? in any case, it was one day I did let go my thoughts.

Freakonomics also points out that these are not a real choice, but a risk management scenario that people are either risk averse or risk challenging. The real choice is to eat and pay rent a job needs to be there to pay for those things. I believe that was in the Transportation chapter where they told of the risks of driving and accidents vs other types of transportation. They also pointed out that the drivers were underpaid for their risk assesment as a taxi driver.

I am not a jury, but yes, if you planned on going out drinking with no plan for driving later, you are just as guilty in deed as the gangster that carrying a gun decided to shoot someone of his rivals he didnt expect to see. The decision was made to carry the gun, and the decision was made to drink and drive with no designated driver. A car is a 2ton missile that we ride inside.

On the topic of 'Crazy People', I'd say that applies to anyone in a car who blocks your way to ask what you're riding.
In their excitement they may not realize it.

And then there are the 'Morlocks'
On the weekends I ride around an old army base that was converted to County Administration buildings and Public Services.
Acres of empty parking lots and side streets to explore, but also a community of homeless who live on the grounds who can be pretty aggressive.

Today, I came home to find that there was a large crew running a large concrete cutting saw, with an end dump truck blocking in about seven cars, they could not go anywhere without requesting the truck to move.  (Maybe those cars never move)

At least they are cutting out the potholes and rough spots.

@Jack Frost, kind-of sad, I must say that I hadn't expected this to be a thing in Canada of all places.

You're also in BC. My best friend (who lives in Vancouver) told me people dont even honk at others out there. They just kinda wait, lmao. Toronto has always been a pretty aggressive city, its like a toned down new york, from what ive been told. Or at least it wants to be. People get rowdy for sure. I live in the suburbs and out here i havent had any bad experiences minus some dirty looks. But when i go to toronto its a totally different game, from how the cars drive, to how people treat you. When you're on your own or with a group things differ too. To be fair its mainly positive, but theres a higher concentration of idiots out here for sure, haha.

Agreed. Some people are really weird, if they don't understand it they dismiss it immediately. The other day, a man was riding an electric scooter along the Thames and overtook a cyclist. For lack of space I only overtook the cyclist. However, when we both stopped at the traffic light- the cyclist rode past and shouted "cycle power!" then ran the red light lol. He very narrowly missed getting run over too.

For some strange reason he actually thought it was a competition and if it ever became one it takes a strong dose of delusion to believe he could beat an electric powered vehicle :efee612b4b: You've given me an idea though- when cyclists say anything I'll start blasting Queen's song 'Bicycle Race'

I suspect those bicyclist who haven't ridden an electric-anything do not understand how much more powerful electrics are. A tour de France hillclimbing specialist can sustain 350 watts with burst up to 425 watts while even the relatively weak KS16s is 1000+ watts. Present generation wheels are in the 2000 watt range, which is well beyond the burst wattage of these athletes.

There is no competition for those in the know; it's probably just the unfamiliarity and the ludicrously tiny form factor that fools bicyclists.

Reminds me of this old vid:

It's "just" a 2hp motor.

1200 sustained with a peak of 2400 i believe.. modern ones are 2000 with 4000+ peak.. even my ninebot one could mop the floor with them lmao
