New Inmotion V10 / V10F

Recommended Posts

I really dont get why people are kissing IM ass here and acting like @novazeus is asking for anything more than he is deserved.  This is a business transaction, small company, big company, Santa Claus, really doesn't matter..  Onus falls to the party who made the mistake to fix it to the customers satisfaction, and if they are not prepared to do that then they need to refund the money.

They screwed up, they need to fix it.  Its really as simple as that, and as i mentioned, down here depending on how long ago he bought it, that would be what the small claims court would say also.  There was recently a case with a specialist mechanic in New Zealand who was working on some guys Limited Edition Lambo.  He took it joyriding and put something like 900ks on it with GPS logs showing 220kmph speeds.  Lawyers got involved and specialist mechanic is now bankrupt as he had to pay out the cars owner some $300k or something.  Same situation in my mind.

Come on IM, do the right thing here and save your reputation before its further damaged by bad PR.

IMHO,
Alex.

P.S - Whats more, if they have already offered some cash plus spare parts for the wheel, and they would be getting a wheel back with only 50miles on it and it good condition, then they are not far financially off from where they are now anyway.  Unless they believe they could not sell the wheel (even at discounted price) or are concerned about others asking for the same thing, which would indicate the problem is more widespread.  I really dont get the business decision here on IM part.  Reputation cost is a real thing and they are losing it right now.  Better save face and reputation at a cost of a few hundred dollars then keep this going i would think.

I previously mentioned 40psi felt too "dead" and made the sidewalls flex too much. My plan was to bump the psi to 45 or 50 and see how that felt. Imagine my surprise when I attach the pump and see only 25psi in the tire. I'm kinda surprised it would go down that much after three weeks. Maybe I didn't tighten down the schrader valve enough after putting slime in and it's slowly leaking from there. Pump it back up to 40psi and (as a new rider) I can barely balance myself on the wheel, it's so sensitive compared to before. But the sidewalls definitely feel stiffer and I think it's where I want it to be. Now I just have to learn how to ride at this pressure...

Mine do that also, I usually pump the tire about every two weeks to keep it in the 50-40 psi range.  Low pressure can sneak up on you, it is gradual and you don't notice it until the wheel handles noticeably different.  It's amazing what different pressures do to handling.

You can put some soapy water on the schrader valve and see it it bubbles, but I bet you're just experiencing the normal leakage common to chinese bicycle and euc tires.

After awhile the wheel won't feel so sensitive at the higher pressure, and you will find the pressure that is most comfortable for you.

I wouldn't buy a used "God knows what it's been through" wheel for $1400.

But yeah, they would be able to recoup some of their money, assuming that they have a mechanism for selling used wheels.

again, how is that giving out freewheels? u were grossly exaggerating?

what is a “mechanism” for selling used wheels? i might need one of those someday.

i know there is ebay.

thanks for that.

if we don’t hold these wheel companies accountable, they will have zero reason to improve.

Perhaps why your not a multi millionaire? :P Giving away thousands to businesses for no return fun is not a way to get, or stay rich :D

Sorry, being cheeky and meant to be working but procrastinating on here instead.  F working weekends *sigh*

Bored,
Alex.

it’s not the money, it’s storage and i hate to see wheels rot and batteries go bad because of lack of attention.

i just gave away several thousands of dollars worth of rc helis and parts, transmitters, planes etc because i’ve moved on.

like this v10f, my health is worth more than $1440. i’ve got a hundred plus souls depending on me.

my sales pitch is:

looks like new

never been dropped(that i know of)

never been up overheat hill(that i know of)

not sure of the mileage.

i think inmotion usa could easily sell my wheel when they get it back. unless nobody wants a v10f because of all their problems. been 4 months since i got mine and the app apple and android are far from fully functional.

do u have to grow apps like weed? is that why it takes so long to fix it?

nobody seems to think the app showing 18 degrees difference in the motherboard is a problem. that’s the overheat problem i bet.

i’ll let u know after lunch tuesday if my $20 mil deal will go thru. maybe when inmotion usa is on the ropes i’ll do a corporate buy out.

i called inmotion again today and emailed also requesting a phone call, still nothing.

when u do a recall like this, u need to add extra staff to work the phones because people are gonna have questions before and after the work is done. not just an answering service that takes a message and nobody calls u back.

fear of the phone yet every man, woman, child has one these days.

God forbid u would actually use it to return a call. it’s not like the old days of long distance fees.

it’s just rude and lack of honor to screw up and not even having the courtesy of returning a phone call. worse management i’ve ever seen.

the fish stinks from the head down.

Why is this @novazeus case not dealt with PM or via e-mail. I mean, it's enough - always the same arguments......There are so many other issues IM can del with!

maybe my posts aren’t useful for u but they might be for a potential purchaser or someone else.

what other issues do u think inmotion should deal with?

i’m sure there’s plenty of bandwidth here for ur comments.

if u don’t like to read what i’m posting, don’t. i don’t tell u what to post.

are u not allowed to point out the problems with these companies wheels on this forum? that’s the only reason i come here. i want to know every frigging hiccup any wheel had and what if known was the problem, so please share.

Of course, this forum is to share problems. But please don't repeat it 5 times on each page. Look on the last pages.

Your are not satisfied with your V10 F -nor am I. But despite the problems, it is a fantastic wheel. Riding makes fun. You should ride it - after you got back your original whhel - say 1000 miles. You will like it :)

i like to have some clarity on this whole waterproofing thing because what ian says doesn’t match what the rep from inmotion usa is saying. the inmotion usa rep said even the new units coming from the factory now had to be split open and repaired.

they both can’t be right.

free speech in america.

ur entitled to ur opinion.

btw, i am an inmotion ambassador, or was, i was their biggest fan. i just don’t wanna ride ur wheel or anybody else’s wheel not knowing how it’s been abused.

what u think is abuse and what i think is abuse might be two different things.

well, i hope u get ur wheel back. take pictures of ur serial number or not if urs is trashed and pray for a screw up.

Honestly, I think your wheel will be just fine when you get it back. It’s not like it would have been riden much if at all.  Once you get it back, you will be able to tell if it was abused.  I think we all baby our wheels except a few. You’re worrying for nothing until you get it back. Let them proceed.

I agree. I think @novazeus should carry on privately or start a new thread so those who aren't interested don't have to weed through it. I wouldn't make this suggestion if he was the OP of this thread, but he's not.

Just a thought.

I second the InMotion.      I'm sorry. I'm weak. I just couldn't resist. :laughbounce2:

Judging by how raggered the wheel he got from the guy who got his is i wouldn't be so sure of that.  The one he got back had multiple problems apparently..  From the guy who has his now.. I think his concern is justified imo.

said the person with almost 9000 posts and the main reason i’d never buy gotway.

people quit tagging me and i’ll quit responding.fc cdc c+

i was hoping whoever got my wheel was on this forum and would respond.

since ur the moderator does every problem with the v10f need a separate topic?

like the overheat issue, the inconsistencies of the heat reporting, the app not working, the power  button sketchy, the bluetooth not connecting.

i wish there was one sticky for each new wheel of known problems that people that actually own the wheel, not u, could go to and be forewarn. like i don’t really care about what gotway is doing but i’d still like to know if problems arise.

i’m not into ur videos but i don’t complain about them. making ur videos makes u happy and i’m happy for u.

@novazeus you said in your original posts that the wheel you have now was in prestene shape so when you get yours back with your covers on it , it should be just as nice. I’ve got the original firmware in mine still so it’s not that type of buggy that you see in the wheel you have now.

Inmtion needs to fix their apps and firmware for all of us.

I finally got an email this afternoon saying the DIY kit shipping label was made so I should have it for next weekend to mod my wheel. I’m not updating my firmware till I hear you guys say there are no more bugs.

inmotion emailed me and asked if i wanted them to update the firmware because when jeffrey test rode it(idk which wheel he test rode, this one or mine) and i said ok, thinking they knew the firmware worked. why would u ask a customer if he wanted buggy firmware? i guess i should have asked if it works first.

that would be the only upside, that in their incompetence, they didn’t update mine.

btw if i were u, from a legal liability standpoint, with a known issue of waterproofing and the resultant fire, i’d never attempt the repair they are instructing u to do. if something bad happens, who’s gonna be liable, u or inmotion.

kinda a big deal.
