Planetpapi
Just saw this on banggood.com again for a low low price of USD 1369. Interesting design with 17in wheel. Hope people who buy this don't treat it as motorcycle and take it to the freeways! This may be a dent to RYNO like units..meaning entry level wheel with a seat and a handle with ultra low price.http://us.banggood.com/Wholesale-Warehouse-One-Wheel-Motorcycles-17inch-Vacuum-Tire-Self-Balance-With-LED-Headlight-wp-Usa-982463.html?utmid=17RYNOhttp://rynomotors.com/meet-the-ryno/what-is-ryno/
Daan
?? 17" is a tiny wheel, I mean, my EUC has an 18" wheel and you can definitely not sit on it if you are more than 5 feet tall. Should it be 27" or something?
Planetpapi
You may be right...but specs says 17in vaccum tire.
esaj
I was suspicious of the size at first too, but looking at the pictures, it could be true. The Firewheel is 16", and comes up to around my knee when upright next to me, and looking at the pictures, it looks like that is about similar (comparing to the persons sitting on it). But what is a vacuum tire?
Jag_Rip
those inches indicated are for the rim, but it has a pretty fat balloony tire that adds several inches to the height.
Daan
those inches indicated are for the rim, but it has a pretty fat balloony tire that adds several inches to the height. That must be it. Anyway, this is not for me -- somehow, a Segway or this Ryno just looks not 'cool'. While, for me, a EUC has a much better look to it, more elegant, like snowboarding on the asphalt. An electric skateboard has the same feeling.
Jag_Rip
The "coolest" looking segway driving was in that mall-cop movie. Every other segway Ive seen looked completely goofy. Especially when they wear a helmet. And i like the gliding feeling I get. Snowboarding or surfing on the asphalt hits the spot! I sometimes catch myself doing some swings when I am on a wide bikelane away from the road
EDL
It looks a little low end to me. I think I'd rather save up for the Ryno.
Planetpapi
RYNO is a beast (not a toy for sure) compared to this one but again RYNO is still not in the market after all these years. I first saw that in Popular Science magazine few years ago. I bet it costs a lot...may be for a good reason. I would rather buy this toy, use it , get bored soon and move onto HALF wheel if they make one.
Mono
This one has a 500W motor and weighs 33kg. Indeed a little low end. The RYNO weights 80kg(!?), but what is the power? I couldn't find this spec on their website.

Jag_Rip
My google-fu failed me on this one so far... but alibaba is full of "vacuum tires" but nowhere to find what makes it different from any other tire.My wild guess would be that they use vacuum to mold the rubber into its form rather than pressure. Mono
Found a patent for a solid vacuum tire and wheel assemblyhttp://www.google.com/patents/US20100071819which tightens a solid tire by vacuum to the wheel rim thereby preventing it from moving. I doubt that this is what we have here though.Another fun fact: one can easily dismount a tubeless tire with a vacuum pump https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZHMCQxALnU
MetricUSA
I wonder want a studded version would cost, or the time it takes to change wheel?
