sanman Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 I was wondering if there's any inflatable stuff that can be worn for cushioning/protection: https://www.whatdropsnow.com/products/christopher-raeburn-inflated-jacket-blue-blue-black Sure, it looks odd from the outside, but I was thinking that the design could be modified so that the bulges would be kept on the inside, and the exterior of the jacket would look more normal and undimpled. Or what about these more high-end Airbag Jackets meant for motorcyclists? http://www.bikebone.com/hit-air-airbag-vests-jackets/ Airbags work on MEMS, which can react in milliseconds - fast enough to save you in a crash/fall.

I think you could theoretically wear the helite stuff but the trigger is a tether that needs to be attached to the wheel. The issue is figuring out the proper tether length (and then adding a makeshift tether extender since the one that comes with it is way too short to use on an EUC). If you make the tether too short, it will trigger too often, probably even if you just step off the wheel. If you make it too long it won't inflate in time before you collide with the ground. They are reusable though and the spare canister to reload it is $25. It is superior protection compared to most anything else you could wear for body protection at least.
