Pedals won't stay folded

Hi all,

Not sure how widespread my issue is for EU owners but I find my pedals will not stay in the folded position very well at all. Initially it was a lot better but perhaps after I learned on my GW14 and had a few crashes, the magnets no longer have the same holding power. Anyone else have this issue? How did you resolve it?

It's really annoying as I carry my EU onto the bus and off, walk down a few platforms and it is constantly folding down on its own even when its leaned on the wall gently, they come down

In Firewheels, there are small screws under the pedal shaft/axle, that have small vinyl-parts to give friction, so the pedals stay in place (no magnets or such). This is the picture from dmethvin's Firewheel rebuild:

You would probably have to drill a hole under the shaft/axle and get a threading tool to make the screw threads...

Edit: image embedding not working again...

When I stripped down my mcm I found one of the magnets in the case had come loose. It was only held by hot melt glue so it was flapping away from the inside of the case a bit.

I also bought some 30mm neodymium magnets off eBay and stuck them under the pedals with Stixall multi purpose building glue which sets like hard rubber and holds things very firmly.

per your advice, I purchased some neodymium magnets and gorilla glue to stick them to the bottom of the pedals! They seem to have gained better magnetic force to stay closed when folded; I'll update how it works when put to the test Monday morning!
