Jason McNeil
Kiwano were the first to produce the SUV of Hoverboards, which had a larger motor, beefy tires, but it remained a humble Hoverboard... They've now introduced a fat tire EUC—@Joey Serrin can probably lay claim to announcing the fat tire (all terrain) concept first, although the KO1 has a handle. Now here's the exceptional cool bit: the writer, Mike Hanlon, knows something about the Wheel market, & rather than doing a copy/paste from the Kiwano PR kit, he mentions how it was an Electric Unicycle article that first made 1 million views on Gizmag; then best of all, the V8 gets this glowing commendation "The most advanced mono-wheel on the market at this time is undoubtedly the Inmotion V8, which is powered by an 800W electric motor, weighs 13.8kg..." http://newatlas.com/kiwano-k01-self-balancing-monowheel-electric-scooter/49705/

kasenutty
Hopefully the handle helps take some pressure off your feet with those pogo stick pedals.
Philip W
Face plant + a stick to your stomach. That'll be fun to watch.
Ch.Eng.62
It is another form of twin wheel EUC's and it's downside. Here I can see only disadvantages. Bulky and heavy device, with a small tyre {probably 10").
Keith
It is interesting that it's name plate states "London, England" bearing in mind it is still an illegal design unusable in the UK. All these varied and fascinating electric designs that we are continually seeing, whilst demonstrating beautifully the inventiveness of man all fail to to meet the UK and European legal requirements for an electric cycle. Assuming our legislators continue to stick their collective heads in the sand (or somewhere the sun don't shine in our big business leaders!) what we REALLY need is a design more like an electrified version of a conventional unicycle complete with peddles and limited, of course (groan) to 25kph. That would be legal across Europe ?.
LanghamP
I love the idea and appearance of the simple wheel with footpads and nothing else. It is transportation reduced to its simplest form, though all the electronics and the drive is quite sophisticated. Viewing older (and some newer) youtube videos of wheels that do include a seat and handlebars...they look so outdated. The control system of our wheels is awesome in its simplicity which can be summed up in one sentence. Fall in one direction and hope for the best. No throttle, no handlebar, no fiddly thing in your hand controlling <something>. It's not even a bicycle; it's even simpler. I can and have mounted using only one foot, gone somewhere very close by, and stepped off the wheel. Using only one foot. Is there any other motorized vehicle that you can control using just one foot? Let that sink in for a minute. A vehicle that requires no controls. Even Segways require one to push or pull on a steering column.
