Cool J
Hey Are having problems with the driving distance on my Pinwheel T1F. Its a 190kw battery but can only drive around 3km. And I way 98kg. Was expecting around 10km. So are planing to change the battery inside the casing. Anyone know a good place to buy a new battery to put in the case. The case is around 150x135x2,5cm and need a battery with 60V and at least 190wh that can fit in the case. Thx Allel
esaj
3km sounds way too low for 190Wh, even with your weight. Likely there's one or more bad cells in the pack, or the cells are of dubious quality. There are packs available in sites like Aliexpress, Amazon or eBay, but the quality and price can vary. In EU, http://www.1radwerkstatt.de/en_GB is probably among the best places to get custom batteries built. It'll likely be more expensive than getting from somewhere like Aliexpress or eBay (or not, depending on VAT and customs rates), but then you won't have to second-guess the cell, BMS or work quality. The last I checked, the largest (single) packs they made were 210Wh, made from original LG MJ1-cells.

Thx Allel Can it be that you are a newbie and at this time have been learning to get on the wheel? Mounting and dismount all the time and accelerating and braking often? then 3km could be ok! as 10km can only be expected when smoothly driving....other wise energy consumption is 10 times higher than normal! Just guessing.....
US69
best and professional batterie is available at 1radwerkstatt.de Highly recommended...but not cheap! edit: uups...Esaj allready said that :-)
Cool J
Thanks, looks like a good site. well... is kind of a newbie, but think I got the hang of it now. Took a tour to my frinds place with 2 stops for red light. And bearly made it home again, and that was trip at 3km all together.

One thing worth mentioning, after you learn to ride better, you will likely want to upgrade soon. Instead of (or in addition to) getting a new battery pack, you might want to consider upgrading to a better wheel. You'll likely hit the limit of cheap nonames and "smaller" manufacturer wheels very fast, and want something faster, more powerful and with more range. Just a thought. Replacing the battery is not a bad option, especially if you want to sell the wheel onwards later on, although, for pure practice purposes, 3km might be enough for the next owner. But if the cells are already going bad, the thing might also become a fire hazard down the line... Not meaning to scare you But it is a possibility, lithium battery fire is no joke. For sure don't want anything faster :-) its can go 22km\h And the better ones are so expensive to import to Denmark. But could be nice with a real quality one.... Doubtful... but I've been wrong before Many "lower tier" manufacturers claim top-speeds around 18-25km/h, when in reality, the tilt-back kicks in somewhere around 12-14km/h, and the top-speed (before the thing cuts out totally) is around 15-18km/h... Well... had a friend ride beside me on his bike with a bike computer. And that said 22km/h. Was supriced my self. He had a hard time following along But its because its not just a Pinwheel, its the T1F (F for FAST ) Oh just a little side note: If anyone reads this and thinks about buying a Pinwheel! STAY A WAY FROM Pinwheelonline.com.... They are nice to answer you untill you a have an issue. Then they stop answer you at all..!!!!

He had a hard time following along But its because its not just a Pinwheel, its the T1F (F for FAST ) Guess I was wrong then, good for you I didn't mean you must buy a faster/more powerful/"better"/whatever wheel, just that you might become to the conclusion sooner or later. By all means, if you're happy with whatever wheel your riding, ride it like a 16 year o... ... ahem, we'll leave it at that Anyway, replacing the battery pack is probably not a bad idea. Personally, I'd avoid the cheapest eBay/etc. -sellers when it comes to the batteries. The wheel electronics, shell, motor etc. are harmless, but a bad battery pack is a whole different story (Says a person with, let's count.... 105 pieces of 18650 -cells in total, both as loose and in packs, scattered around my study shelves, cabinets and desks currently, couple of which I charged today after they had dropped to about 2.4-2.6V/cell ) Quote Oh just a little side note: If anyone reads this and thinks about buying a Pinwheel! Pay attention at all....t1F for fast? or for Faceplant? i heard of very nasty pinwheel cutouts! and to drive faster than 15-18 on a 190wh batterie....which is just a ONE 16cell system...is asking for trouble! My 2 cents! All serious wheel with speed over 20kmh have at least a 2 parallel 16 cell system...to handle the higher amp draw! cutting out over 20kmh is no fun...pay attention! and i go with Esaj....if you can REALLY drive (after 4/6 weeks)....you will want to have a better wheel! Buy a nice one on aliexpress...its safe...cheap and delivered including transport AND customs.... A good batterie 210wh will be 120-160 Euro...safe that money for a serious wheel...really! Inmotion v8....about 800euro on ali....
Hunka Hunka Burning Love
What tire pressure are you running? I found with my old generic wheel with a similar pack, I could squeek out about 5-6 kms maximum with my 167 lb rider weight. With 211 pounds yeah that might cut the distance down a bit. 22 kph is pretty good for a lower end wheel if it is going that fast. Mine tilts back at 12-14 kph and has a stated 18-22 kph which I never tried approaching. The extra speed you're going at could be draining your pack faster. Maybe try riding at 14 kph and see how far you get. Cold temperature also has a bad effect on battery life. I was going to try to upgrade the battery, but there's just no room in the shell for anything so I didn't bother. Wait a bit and soon you will be itching for something with a bit more distance!
