Difference between Ninebot One A1 and S2

Good morning guys! :)

This is my first post in this forum

because I'm going to buy myself a ninebot one A1 or S2 depending on what you say is better and worth the price.

I have a guy who'll sell his ninebot one A1 with 2 battery packs for 620€ and I have another one with the S2 but for 720€...

What do you say, are there magior differences that are worth the 100€ price difference? As i know the A1 with dual battery and 500W Motor is a little bit slower, isn't?

What should you recommend?

Thanks for your advise!

I red the other tread already, thanks :)

So altough there are the same battery's and motor, the S2 goes faster? Seems to be a software limitation...

Is there any magior difference or would you advise me to buy the A1 instead?

They're not the same motors if one has more power than the other. The lower A1 speed is due to the different, weaker motor.

And the A1 was originally only supposed to be for the Chinese market (lesser motor to lessen the price, as cost of living in China is lower), so I'm not sure if you would get support from Ninebot/Segway being in Austria.

For me, I wouldn't touch the A1, price regardless, especially over just a 100EUR difference.

Okay thanks for your reply!

But somehow this A1 model has also a 500W motor which goes also up to 24km/h, are there maybe 2 versions?

A1 is 400W motor With max speed of ~20kmh as per official specs from ninebot.cn

At €100 price difference it is no reason to choose weaker model With the risk of loosing warranty rights as the A1 model is not supposed to be sold other places than China...

Okay you're right with the loss of warentest...

I will think about it! :)

Is there maybe any chance to increase or to disable the speed limitation of the S2/A1?

short answer: No!

stay away from the 9bot....much better wheels in that price range....like @Jack Frost  said

Can partially agree with @KingSong69 but not the non-argumentative message from  @Jack Frost.. There are other wheels for around the same price but if they are better is in the eye of beholder. It depends on what you would like to get. - more speed, range? That could be Kingsong. Want it to be easy to service/change parts and tyres, dismantle for cleaning, and to look good both on outside AND inside, then Ninebot is still a good alternative. Add waterprotection and battery protection/casing too. While other manufacturers trying to overtake eachother on maximum (unsafe cut-out) speed and huge batteries (all other the wheel), ninebot seems to focuse on quality and craftmanship. Maybe not the fastest and not with a "round the world-on one charge" range, but reliable and with failure detection that can warn you about cell failures etc.

I think the aim of the S2 was to provide a lighter choice to the E+ while making the batteries modular and easy to replace like on a laptop and to compete with other 14" wheels on the market.  In addition, I think they kept each pack within the allowable watt hour maximum for taking on commercial flights.  Unfortunately it's still hit or miss with certain airlines and EUCs.  That watt hour limit really limited the specfications of the S2.

It almost seems like Ninebot is trying to fly under the radar.  Kind of like the muscle car days in the US in the 60's, when the insurance companies tried to raise rates for higher powered cars, the auto manufacturers started lowering advertised horsepower ratings, but in reality, (for awhile, at least) they were just as powerful as before.  I get the feeling that Solowheel has been doing that all along, they advertise 12mph max, but I saw a video where the rider commented on it, saying that he could actually go much faster.  I wish someone would do a speed test on a Solowheel.

Don't need an argumentative message if you do a little research you'll find out that Ninebot just isn't the brand it is anymore. How can you talk about reliability after Ninebot one P was launched...or never launched. There are wheels around for the same price with better range, and better top speed as well as better functions and features..I mean I shouldn't even have to talk about that on a forum like this...

The Ninebot S2 is a sharp looking, sleek wheel.  The shiny gloss sides with no leg pads do get scuffed up with falls so that's not so good.  Coming from Ninebot, I bet that the construction quality is likely to be top notch.  Imagine the iPhone of EUCs in terms of fit and finish.

It's not for everyone, but maybe Ninebot wanted more female riders who don't need to ride 100 km on one charge or a really heavy wheel to carry around.  Some just want a nice looking wheel with some cool lights that can take them around at a leisurely pace.

Here's a review:

Now, the OP ask about S2 and A1 so it is possible that he have already done some thinking about what he likes. We can sure advise him about the alternatives but then it shouldn't be just "friends don't let friends buy ...".

And when it comes to one of the models that were less than success (most likely hurried production), there are still a few owners around the globe that own P model with newest MB and firmware.

In EUC world there is no perfect wheel I recon.
