Jonathan Tolhurst
Does anyone have any ideas about baby/child proofing the on/off switches on an Electric Unicycle? My eight month old is crawling all over the place and has developed a great affinity for anything that looks interesting, especially buttons. So far I have come up with cutting the top half off of a plastic medicine bottle (with a child proof top) and then glueing it over the button? (I have a NB1 E+) I do store my wheel on it's side and out of the way but would like to make extra sure that it is completely safe. Do any EUC models have a lock mechanism, to prevent unintentional activation?
Hunka Hunka Burning Love
I bet it wouldn't be too hard to swap out the switch with a momentary switch with a key lock. This one might be too long though... http://m.ebay.com/itm/151920406791 Maybe @esaj could make a fingerprint reader circuit and incorporate one of these onto a wheel... http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Home-Button-Fingerprint-Sensor-Reader-Replacement-for-iPhone-6-6-Plus-White-/281535946480 Or one could install another Ninebot momentary switch in series with the original one but on the opposite side. The odds of a toddler figuring out they need to press both simultaneously or hold one in while pressing the other might not be that obvious. Little kids are darned smart though so maybe a keylock would be best. Maybe this would work (not a momentary switch though): http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/05a-spst-miniature-short-round-type-cj92a Compare to original: http://www.ninebotus.com/power-switch-replacement-power-switch-for-ninebot-one/
Mistagear
Simple, buy a GW 22" and store on its side. By time the kid can lift far enough to turn on, will be old enough to ride it
esaj
I don't think there are any wheels that have an actual "ignition lock" out-of-the-box, but maybe such could be modded between the power button and the board. That would seem fairly secure to me (assuming you remember to lock it when not in use ).
noisycarlos
You can lock the Ninebot via Bluetooth in the app. It's designed to prevent theft. Just press the middle of the speedometer (when the speed is zero a lock icon shows up). When locked the wheel won't turn on no matter how long you hold the button or blue many times you press it. It will beep and shake if somebody tires to move it though.

Thanks @noisycarlos - I completely forgot about the APP - I usually don't have it installed on my phone as it used drain the battery and always prompt me to upgrade my firmware. I'll give it another look. Many Thanks for the responses, much appreciated
