swvision
Would installing these change the smoothness of acceleration: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/clip-on-soft-ferrite-rings-5pc.html? Has anyone ever done this mod before? I couldn't find anything in search on this site about them.

I have seen one or two People on the Gotway Group on Facebook doing this mod (not especially THIS ferrite ring, was another)... They were asked if it changed anything...behaviour of wheel...Sound etc etc... There answer was "No-it did not"
esaj
AFAIK, the ferrite rings are used to prevent high-frequency interference from coupling into/radiating out of the wires, I doubt they have much more effect other than that. EDIT: Ferrite beads prevent interference in two directions: from a device or to a device.[1] A conductive cable acts as an antenna – if the device produces radio frequency energy, this can be transmitted through the cable, which acts as an unintentional radiator. In this case the bead is required for regulatory compliance, to reduce EMI. Conversely, if there are other sources of EMI, such as household appliances, the bead prevents the cable from acting as an antenna and receiving interference from these other devices. This is particularly common on data cables and on medical equipment.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrite_bead
