@Mantraguy that sounds interesting. I have a new v11 that should be arriving tomorrow (after a 4 month wait - ah the sadness when you sell your last wheel and your new one hasn't come yet) and I would love to meetup and do a longer ride. I am down in Victoria so maybe the Cowichan Valley Trail? https://www.cvrd.ca/121/Cowichan-Valley-Trail up towards you?

I will probably be rain-phobic for a while so we will have to time the day.

Sure, CVT sounds good. Would be fun to get a larger group together - if you haven't already done it, the CVT is hard-packed gravel and almost completely flat from Duncan to Lake Cowichan. There's also a parallel trail that is very similar (that one runs south of the Cowichan River, and is managed by the provincial government), but it means you have to ride a few roads back to where you started from Glenora back to Duncan (it's easy to find low-traffic roads). The advantange is that you're not riding the same thing there and back. Any modern wheel can handle it - I rode it a few times on my Tesla V2, which has about the skinniest tire of any EUC (my first ride on the CVT was in patchy snow, with a 10km section of new sand that hadn't been hard packed yet - that was interesting! It's much better now). It's about 65km return, so any wheel with about 1500Wh will do fine; my 1500Wh Tesla had about 35% to spare.

If you venture from the southern part of the trail, east of Kinsol Trestle, it continues south and east towards Shawnigan Lake. That section has some VERY steep, twisty sections through the trees which are a LOT of fun if you have a bit more experience on gravel. Think of the Ewok's flying between trees and you'll get an idea of what it's like. ;-) I've only ridden as far south to where it changes to the Sooke Hills Wilderness Trail but I imagine it's similar fun south of that - it's on my list of places to explore.

There's one other section that goes from Chemainus to Ladysmith, much the same surface and similar terrain, with a few more hills. It's much shorter but also a nice scenic ride if you find yourself in the area with a wheel and some time to kill.

I recently got a V12 as an upgrade to my beat up V10F. I've been itching to get a good distance ride in and see how far I actually go on it, but it's been nothing but rain. I've still been riding the hell out of it in the rain, but I don't think I'm particularly itching to go on a several hour joy-ride in this rain. Pretty much just to work and back + errands. I will say the waterproofing on my V12 seems solid so far, next up, test the range fully. I've been wanting to try the CVT actually, but I don't drive so I haven't had a way to get out there on my own. Doing a group ride out there would be awesome if I could hitch a ride once we get some nicer weather.

I've also been wanting to get out on the galloping goose and explore past Sooke Potholes. That was as far as I could get on my V10F, and that was just one way.

Update to this, I'm back to my v10f, since my V12 randomly decided to shut off and not turn back on when I was walking with it. :(

Sent back to eevee's, but apperantly their technician quit last week without notice, so I'm stuck waiting for their new technician who starts sometime next week.

Am I the only one posting about random issues popping up every couple of months, or just the unluckiest of the bunch? :P

Oh, one thing to add to this. When I was putting the wheel on the charger, it would turn on again and the display would work, I could check the battery, use the built-in display, check settings and so on. Could connect the app and check everything there as expected. If I unplugged the charger, the app would crash (if connected) and the display would go dark. If I then brought the wheel upright and powered it on, it would flicker to life (the power on sound would play, the lights would turn on, the display would turn on...etc.) but it would immediately shut off after, probably like half a second or less.

oh damnnn... i wonder what the hell could have happened, though thank god it was just while you were walking!! i would normally say those symptoms seem like there is just a disconnect either a short, bad wire or whatever else between the battery and mainboard... as far as i know, inmotion and KS eucs are all "on" while charging, operating in a low power state without engaging motors, this is how they can do firmware updates and why you can connect to them in the app while charging (at least some of them).. it really could be a slew of things, without opening it up (im assuming you didnt) its really hard to say.. but solely because of the charging thing, im going to say there is either a problem with one or both of the packs, the bms, or the cables connecting them... were there any other symptoms or weird things that happened, any smoke or bad smell anything like that?

haha im sure youre not the only one having random xD i have had my fair share of issues for sure, but im quite adept at electronics repair and have all the tools so ive always been able to take apart and fix them myself... though, luckily.. besides an inner tube there has never been something that has gone on one of my wheels that required me to order any specialised parts or boards so having had like two dozen wheels, i think im pretty lucky in that regard

I just ended up sending it in since it's under warranty and it's just a safer bet overall, but I did find another forum that was talking about it, sounds like 6 people had that happen all in the same week, and it sounds like it's got to do with the controller burning out for some reason. Very strange.

wow that sucks.... one of the many reasons that i never buy an euc within a year of it being released.... seems that even the best of the manufacturers use the community to test their wheels instead of doing it themselves before release... no euc in history besides a ninebot that i know of hasnt gone through at least two iterations.... ridiculous

Hey folks, I am selling my MSX for parts, I'd prefer to go local so am posting here first. $300. I suspect something wrong with the control board. The motor and self balancing works but the power switch isn't working (wheel is always on unless you unplug the battery). Also as soon as the free spin stops, the motor shuts of as if the wheel just tipped on its side and you have to shake it around to get it to re-engage. I replaced the power switch and still can't turn it off. Its probably fixable but I'd rather not spend money on parts and put it towards buying a v-12 instead.

If you are interested text msg me at 250 217 0286

Hey, I was out of town so wasn't keeping up on this. If I'm not mistaken it was from the last batch of MSXs before they came out with the MSP

yes i have seen a few new guys who i dont believe are on here.... last guy i saw was on a rockwheel lol, i miss that little thing xD originally i was thinking the v12 for sure, but then ofc theres all the problems with cutouts... i was also thinking about the s20 but im seeing mixed reviews on it, and the seat also seems completely useless... im sure things will change and some alterations will be made by the time summer comes around but at the moment its a toss up between those two

Ya, I'm sitting tight right now as well. I still have the XL and GW HT, but the GW makes me nervous. Getting it tuned to not toe dip is a touchy business, should have waited for the next gen with different board.

For the next buy I'm going to sit and watch for a while as well. That S20 has a lot of potential... ! but we all know by now not to buy a wheel until it's gone through the unorthodox, and unregulated, quality review testing done by seemingly willing subjects who'll drop thousands to be first on you tube :)

Hi guys, I know this is crazy short notice but I'm coming down to Victoria (from Nanaimo) tomorrow (Tuesday) morning and wondered if anyone might be up for a ride. I've probably got from about 10am to 3pm or so and will probably do a loop around the waterfront and head up to Sidney - but am open to other options if you have a ride you prefer! 80-100km ideally but again, I'm flexible. I ride a Sherman, usually cruise around 35-40km/h but also enjoy a few trails here and there.

Is anyone else on the island thinking of heading down for Marty Backe's Southern California tour in October? If so, would there be any interest in getting a few people to share a vehicle and travel / accommodation costs? Let me know if you want to chat about this some time - I'd be happy to meet up beforehand for a ride and we can chat about options etc.

Had the pleasure of meeting Justin today on the Goose at Quadra on his beautiful V12 .. trailed you to your turnoff toward Esquimalt and most impressed with your pro riding style… we need all of us here on the Island, and around the world, to be so respectful as you are of other trail users so that we don’t get shut down.. masterful wheeling sir! …two thumbs up and safe wheeling Justin … Tryna

So, I've decided to move on from EUCs and will be selling my KS XL and the Gotway HS HT.

Not sure if there is any interest this time of year, but I'll accept any reasonable offer for them. I think the KS has about 1000 km and the Gotway is probably less than 200. The Gotway is gen 2 of the HS series and probably needs an owner who is comfortable tinkering with it. Runs fine, but as we all know the earlier versions might be buggy (I haven't ridden it enough to find out).

Bought an electric full suspension mountain bike recently (Turbo Levo)... after watching the slow evolution of suspension EUCs (what I really want in an EUC) I decided to switch back to a bike for a while. Perhaps in a few years I'll grab another EUC after the suspension wheels are sorted, and safe. The ebike if bloody amazing though, and easy to de-restrict (if that's something a person wants to do, not me though, never lol)
