The higher speeds, it almost makes sense to have a 'magnetic damper' like you see in the performance cars. In this case, to give you 1-2" of travel. The force could also be energy returning as well (and drive up the technology price i'm sure). I don't think there is enough battery to make it realistic though, not until carbon nanotubes hits large scale manufacturing, or if they find another way to make superconductors at room temp. It looks like he was trying to accelerate when he saw the hoverboard rider, and then all went tumbly. Low battery + high acceleration = kiss the asphalt?
