bravesirstupid
I see that Amazon is again carrying hoverboards. I'm trying to decide between a 6.5-inch wheel size unit or an 8.5-inch wheel size. The 8.5 inch unit has 400 watt motors and is roughly 30% wider than the 6.5" units. I'm wondering about maneuverability around crowds and whether a wider unit would annoy people or not. For reference, 6.5" Hovertron vs. 8.5" Epikgo. Both units go by a few different names. It looks like the Epikgo hit the market less than a month ago as the Halo Rover. Many thanks for your opinions!
Hunka Hunka Burning Love
I'd get the larger wheeled version as the smaller one is more for indoors. Even still, the larger wheeled hoverboard can be a little dicey over sidewalk cracks that are not very level. The smaller version is a little lighter and fun indoors. It kind of depends on where you'll be using it I think.
The Fat Unicyclist
Definitely the larger wheels! Otherwise you will regret it, after about a week, when you realise all of the places you can't go with small wheels...
Mono
Larger wheels are better, no question. However, width is annoying when going through small sidewalks, in particular if they are crowded. This is also true for EUCs. I realize a width of 47cm which I do find to be a limitation, but I also would be very hesitant to buy an EUC smaller than 14". So overall wheel size is probably more important than width. Is there no way you would consider a Ninebot Mini? I think they are supposed to be more stable than hoverboards.
