In Germany will know all These discussions :whistling:

Same here...you Need insurance, everything faster than 6kmh is a vehicle and has to get insurance. Thats the law....

Unfortunatly None of the companys do that anymore, just if you are lucky and they think that you have a "Segway-like-vehicle", you might be able to get a insurance, which includes a license plate here in Germany. Even with that insurance, you will not be allowed to drive here, cause your EUC is not authorized/registered, but at least with a numberplate/insurance you will get ONE criminal offense LESS if you are caught...

Here my old 18A with number plate....

Yeah, the two wheeled Segways have redundant motherboards and batteries.  Supposedly they can't cutoff suddenly and faceplant someone, at least the first time.:whistling:  What would be insurable is a two wheel EUC, one in front of the other, with no seat of handlebars, steered by the same method as a one wheel EUC. by weight shifting and leaning.

Insurance companies base their decisions on coverage and their policy prices on risk and cost of claims. Segways as a brand have been around long enough that they could make some sort of reasonable guess about those things. EUCs don't have that track record. I guess someone might insure EUCs but you know they'll lose their shirts on Gotway owners. :D
