Here is one good euc artist that should have joined the euc competition

and I liked this one among many

Toby Stevens

I agree to disagree , there is no reason to split up the competition , skills makes the winner and if the video is entertaining then its only better ,
i dont think video editing or the music makes the winner

also by not splitting up the competition then you avoid discussions who belongs to one group or the other  , another reason is that there are so few euc talents taking part

Just my humble opinion

it is a tough one, what I think would be good would be to do 2 category's, have 5 judges that know how difficult certain tricks can be and get them to judge the trick competition and have another prize for the peoples choice award for the best video judged by the public. That way  its an equal playing field for the trick comp and we also get the professional productions like Damien's for entertainment. May even get some really funny ones enter for the Euc vid comp. People could even enter both categories with different videos for each one or use the 1 video to enter both.

Yes it is a tough one. That is why I kindly asked you to provide some verbiage you feel would complement next year's contest along with where the additional prizes are coming from.

@Rehab1 it would have made absolutely no sense to split the past contest into categories. We had too few people for that, period. Hirsute ( per Dale's classification) woukd have been in the group of 1 person only and wpuld have to compete against himself.  If the contest happens next year, and if there is many more contestants then it may make sense to split them up into categories. We are not anywhere near that point yet.

If we had split the contest into categories, it would have been a total disaster. Everything was done right considering it was the first year.

I am just curious to see what changes or modifications Dale would have implemented in the competition rules. I went back through 11 pages of discussions concerning the contest rules dating back to July and unfortunately not one single suggestion or comment came from @dalewalker.  Dale you now have chance to  make any changes or modifications to the contest rules below you believe would benefit next year's contest and they will be taken under consideration. Thank you!

The contest was perfect as it was!!! like you said...on 11 pages of discussions, we all get together and made some small adjustments....and the best guy won! he was voted by the complete forum and all voters, all participates, all workers for the contest have been happy with the outcome!

This hole event and the surroundings like our money collecting for SidestreeT Reny have been such an !!amazing!! thing by this community...i am missing the english words to describe how good it was!

Dont y'all let this event get ruined in the aftermath or with a bad taste by this -Sorry- Douchebag, who did not even invest a tenthousandth of energy in voting or participating or in commenting or whatsoever before the contest as he is now doing in the aftermath with bullying the contest!

It makes me extremly angry, to get this discussion on again, normally we all should stay still and let Dale trolling all alone!

He will call me now childish or agressiv or defensiv or whatsoever, as he allways seams do that when someone comes up with a different opinion than him.....Seams he is the only one who is allowed to tell his opinion, and then calls his statement "helpful" ...the 100% one and only truth...and we all can just be "happy" to learn from his great wisdom and can thank him therefore later?

what a nonsense!!!

first - he come up with that Hirsute was not allowed to participate because he works for Inmotion and wins an Inmotion....

second -he himself stated that such a "rigged" contest can only be hold by Jason Mc Neil....his personal opponent...

After NOBODY jumps on his train..and his arguments were easily folded by reading/directing him to the rules...(and he got the backfire he deserved)...it is now that Hirsute is not a "real" trick rider and doing only Video editing...and that such a contest must be judged by professional judges....bla bla bla

we all heard -or better read- that once he bites, he never stops...so now we all are able to see this here!

Not ONE other has said that even ONE of the arguments he brought up were good...or better like we have done with the contest..so i could only suggest one thing:

Going on with handling the things like the majority of the forum wants and has done and good is!

@Rehab1 I can only imagine how fired up you are?! you have done such a good job with bringing this event to live, also with other good things like the collecting and and and..... - Stay cool....here in this case any arguing is wasted time!

@John Eucist If my words are in anyway against the netiquette...Sorry! i really appreciate a warning or something...it is worth that, otherwise my neck would burst :-) I can only begg for closing the thread...as we all know this will not find an end!

Sorry! Somebody must have said that! Good night :-)

You can't have a Euc trick competition that's judged on other factors than Euc tricks, its not how it works. Otherwise its not an Euc trick competition. Some people just aren't getting the whole point of it. It would be like a slower car winning a drag race because its got a better paint job. A trick competition must be judged on tricks not other things or its not a tick competition. My suggestion makes the trick competition fair and actually a trick competition like its supposed to be and the peoples choice category allows for people to be more creative with there videos.

Alternatively they could leave it as is but change the name of it so it doesn't give good Euc riders with limited film and editing abilitys false hope with a misleading name that suggests they can win based on Euc skill not film making skill

Call me a douchebag if you want, it doesnt bother me if you want to be childish because you lack the ability to discuss things and use logic like an adult.

I'm not calling people names like a half wit that resorts to insults because there not bright enough to come up with a logical argument.

The competition clearly wasn't fine the way it was.

I have nothing to gain from this but I seen a problem where a 12yo missed out on a new wheel he deserved to win because a professional entertainer that is also an adult won with a fancy video even tho toby's tricks were better.

I'm not the only one that thinks it wasnt at all fair but i am the only one with the balls to speak up about it.

I had a lot of people messaging me agreeing with what I was saying but unfortunately unlike me none of them had the balls to speak up and back me up because of people like you that just want to call names and stick there head in the sand when there's an issue and pretend everything's honky dory.

That's why the world is going to sh!t, because people like you pretend everything is OK and then bully people who try making things fair.

I already knew I was right about what I'm saying but when people start throwing insults at me that just confirms it because the moment someone starts using insults is the moment I win the argument.

How's that? Because you couldn't come up with a reasonable response like an adult and that's why you started with the name calling.

The point of this discussion is to make the competition better in the future. If you don't agree with what I'm saying then explain why you don't agree and make your points because you see that's how a discussion works.

Getting defensive and name calling is a very childish reaction I'd expect from a 10yo not an adult like yourself. If you don't have a constructive response or a valid argument then don't comment because you just make yourself look like a dick.

You clearly knew you were doing the wrong thing because you apologises in the same comment you broke the forum rules regarding insults in, begging john to close the thread makes me laugh because in my head I picture you going "oh my god he's making valid points! Quick shut it down shit it down! We can't let him appear to be smarter than us and his coming up with some actual facts we just don't have an answer for" lol

End of the day you can ignore my suggestions if you chose and leave everything the way it is but the credibility if the competition will never amount to anything if its not a fair competition.

I should just let it fail and come in and clean up afterwards, I'm trying to help because I want the world to be a better place but if people just want to attack me for addressing issues I'll just keep it to myself and let them learn the hard way.

Just don't expect me to throw you a line when your ship sinks because when I tried to help you didn't want it.

You don't make it to the top by being an idiot and my company is the best in Australia with the best range of the best wheels cheaper than the competition. And its only been going 3 months. I don't argue for the sake of arguing, I just like to do things right and I like to help people and that's why I'm trying to help here.

If things aren't done right they fail. Look at milbay, they had the exclusive rights for kingsong in Australia but they didn't do it right and now if they want to sell the new models they don't have left over stock of they have to buy it from me. I went from having nothing at all but my passion for Euc and my knowledge to having the biggest range of the best brands in Australia in only 3 months. Surely I must know a thing or two so its not such a bad thing to have me helping. I'm actually quite a good guy

"I'm not calling people names" followed immediately with calling him "half wit".  Epitome of irony?

Until they speak up (and are known members), your claim is unsubstantiated.

"dick" and "douchebag" are on the same level to me.

Again, winners were chosen by forum members voting.  It can't get fairer than that.  Selecting "five" special people to judge would be less fair.  Complaints about biased judges will be likely.

Again, you made your opinions heard.  I don't see anyone else agreeing with you.  Unless you have something entirely new to say, it's time to stop.  Otherwise this cannot be considered as anything other than "trolling" and the mods will have to act accordingly.

This old thread was "necroed" by Dale because he only recently discovered it.  Since the thread was about his post on Facebook I feel it was appropriate that he had a chance to address it himself.  Since this has now been accomplished, I have decided to lock this thread for the general health of the community (preventing an escalating flame war).  When "next year's competition" comes around (if there is one) we can discuss it again in a new thread.
