Popular Post Phonoman Posted November 24 Popular Post Posted November 24 (edited) Hey all! TL;DR: I was done with being blinded by bright white forum colors, went and found a way to make/setup a Dark Mode, which I then adjusted so that everyone can re-use and easily change the colors to their own liking as everyone has VERY different taste. Instructions below and 1 minute long video tutorial in the 1st comment. Full post: Have you ever entered the forum while in a dark environment and instantly have gotten a visual flashbang or have your eyes cry in pain? Well, I just spent a good amount of time to make your life better by creating a Dark Mode for this forum! And as we know that everyone has VERY different taste (and I chose one of my favorite untraditional colors), then I also spent more time to setup most things in a way where pretty much anyone can adjust the color scheme to whatever they like by changing a few of the "--custom-" values! Can be as easy as just swapping all 3 accents to completely change the main colors of the Dark mode. I originally tried to make a stand-alone extension that would also allow a much better way of picking colors, but turns out Chrome doesn't allow to change those. Therefore, we have to use the Stylebot extension which bypasses this with its voodoo magic and allows adjustments. Selectors obviously could've been better and might look all over the place, but since I'm no frontend coder, then I just did my best and finetuned case-by-case. Most importantly - it works as you can see in the screenshots. How to setup EUC Forum Dark Mode on your computer (Chrome/Brave/Firefox/Edge) under 2 minutes: Install Stylebot extension to your browser from their official page https://stylebot.dev/ Download the attached file with my Dark Mode setup, open it and copy everything Alternative: You can copy the same code from my pastebin here (no download): https://pastebin.com/aPC7VNbp In browser - refresh page, click on the Stylebot extension button, then "Open Stylebot" At the bottom of the window that just appeared click on the "<> Code" section and paste here from step 2. Enjoy your eye peace! or tinker with the --custom-..._accents colors to your own liking. Almost everything in the forum and therefore in my adjustments uses RGB metric, so google "RGB color picker" to pick and choose your own colors, then paste the three pairs of RGB numbers in the Stylebot code section. I know that probably some of you all will be able to mix and match some really nice looking color setups that others might also really enjoy and want, so feel free to also post your own edited color files along with some screenshots of how it looks. Please, don't just add random files with no preview as that's not helpful to anyone. euc-forum-custom-dark-mode-v.1.txt Edited November 25 by Phonoman 4 1 Quote
Phonoman Posted November 24 Author Posted November 24 Here's a video that shows how to set this up. It didn't even take 1 minute in total. Quote
meepmeepmayer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Haha, when a random forum user gets things done that the forum software provider can't... Thank you! 1 1 Quote
Rawnei Posted November 25 Posted November 25 For anyone using Firefox there's a neat extension called "Dark Reader" that can turn any website to into dark theme (sometimes with mixed results but overall works great), I'm using it for this forum since a while back. 1 Quote

Those half-assed results can be triggering at times. Also, you cannot customize the colours to your liking - you're stuck with whatever that extension generates. But those extensions are a good solution for a lazy and/or not picky person. 2 hours ago, Funky said: I can simply right click - dark mode.. Works the same. Well, I can 100% tell you it doesn't work the same. I don't know what magic you're using, but there's no such option for Chrome/Firefox by default. Quote

One of options that i very much like is - YouTube video pop out. I can watch any video while i browse true webpages. It automatically pops out when i change tabs. Resize the window, or move any place i want it. (And it sticks to that place - i don't need to change windows, etc..) Edited November 25 by Funky Quote
