mhpr262 Posted November 10 Posted November 10 WTF is this supposed to be? Much too similar to the Mten5 and the A2. They will only cannibalize each others sales. Also a 42 Volt battery? Did they use an e-kickscooter battery pack and motor? Perhaps it will be even cheaper than the Mten5 and it is targeted at the Inmotion E20? 1 Quote
Robse Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Why don't the girls just walk - it's same speed, and the dont need to carry the wheel back to the car whenever the battery goes flat? slippyfeet Posted November 10 Posted November 10 the physical size is awesome, but running a half the voltage and wh of the mten4 that they just discontinued will probably leave a lot to desire... Quote

Asphalt Posted November 11 Posted November 11 How on earth did they make something with such diminutive specs so heavy? My guess is that it's the fatty 3.50-8 tubeless tire and wide rim to support it. For comparison, the MCM5 is 1.0 lb heavier but with: 800Wh vs 375Wh 1500W vs 800W 84V vs 42V 50 km/h vs 25? km/h The mTen3 is both lighter and faster. What's particularly disappointing is that it's a 14-inch wheel. Begode is trending downwards with each new release in this wheel size (MCM5 > A2 > Future). All they had to do was update the A2 with the mTen5 improvements and release an A3, but instead we get this disappointing Future. 1 Quote

Doesn't matter that new wheels has 2x lower stats than old wheels.. Stupid manufacturers. And stupid market. As you said. It could have easily been 800Wh, 1500W, 84V, 50km/h wheel. Nah - they made 42V wheel in 2025 year. (Yes i'm from future.. We all gonna die. And wheels get heavier. Till Solid State batteries become a reality in 2029 year. Which first time will be used in EUC at 2031 year.) This wheel perfectly shows our Future.. Bleak. Edited November 11 by Funky 1 Quote
Silver Posted November 11 Posted November 11 My only guess is this is supposed to be an upgraded MTen mini and act as a better learning wheel. Something as small as the mini or even the MTen 4 can be harder to learn on than a slightly bigger wheel. Otherwise, it's just a worse Mten 3 or 4, that's heavier. You have to love Begode's ability to make every wheel possible though... except the one you want. 2 Quote

(They all are the same design.) Doh how fast they make them - that fast they get outdated. Same goes for replacement parts.. Look at KS, Inmotion. Still selling V8/10. KS14/16/18.. Etc.. Where's Begode's Teslas, Mten3, even RS19, MSP/MSX aren't even been made anymore? (Bet there's quite more models not being made anymore.) Begode is good up to 3-5 years. Later you're for yourself.. But hey - most people around here sell their "old" wheel, as soon as something new gets released. At least second hand market is thriving. Another reason why i don't really like Begode - replacement part availability. Quick $$$ grab every few months.. Forget old models. Almost like Apple. Edited November 11 by Funky Quote
alcatraz Posted November 12 Posted November 12 China recently introduced new relgulations/classifications on electric vehicles domestically. It is unclear if it applies to unicycles but this wheel looks to be, at least in some ways, a response to that. Electric vehicles below 48v, 400w, 25km/h do not require a license or registration as they aren't viewed as motorized legally. This wheel definitely has more than 400W so that property doesn't fit. 1 Quote

I ate shit seriously hard last Saturday when I attempted to ride an old 16s1p 400W wheel and had it cut out on me after less then 100 meters. I had bought it for nostalgic reasons because I learned to ride on just such a wheel, but riding wheels from my V10F to EX20 have seriously spoiled me as far as available motor power is concerned. I am never going to ride that piece of shit again, it goes up for sale on my local craigslist. I guess if I hadnt been wearing wristguards there is a good chance I would have broken at least one wrist. I also bruised my rib cage and/or my liver, I can barely bend over to pick up a sock without yodelling from pain. Fuck those things. 1 Quote
Sholphin02 Posted November 12 Posted November 12 This wheel is a joke. Nobody should buy such a crappy wheel. Even as a gift I wont ride it. 1 Quote

Calling it shit, etc.. Wheel was working just fine. You just were spoiled by big wheels. And could not properly adjust to weak 16s capabilities. How often did you cut-out while learning to ride on said wheel? Probably not at all? But yeah.. 400W is way to little power. Good thing it's just a number manufacturers will give - to be "legal". It's real power can be closer to 1000W. Same as all new 25kg or less wheels will have 1000W motors. (Peak will be closer to 3000W) Good thing this lil shit has 800W motor - so it's 2x safer. phatmike Posted November 18 Posted November 18 I don’t understand. The inmotion v8 of 8 years ago got better spec and it is lighter! 1 Quote

They need to make big wheels look better somehow.. Look at this little pebble of a wheel being just 16kg. And then take look at this amazing monster of a wheel at 36kg. It's only 20kg more weight, but you gain SO MUCH! Edited November 18 by Funky 1 Quote
Asphalt Posted November 18 Posted November 18 4 hours ago, phatmike said: I don’t understand. The inmotion v8 of 8 years ago got better spec and it is lighter! Fat tires = Fat rims = Fat mass The V8 has a 2.125-inch wide tire on a rim for tubed tires. The Future has a 3.5-inch wide tire on a rim that supports tubeless (taller lip). Also, the V8 shell provides monocoque-style structure, whereas the Future has the "2-pillars around the wheel" style structure, which is weaker and requires more material (mass) for strength, splash protection and kickstand. Weight is also added with the Future's jump/power pads. It could be argued that power pads have no place on a wheel that can be so easily over-powered. The only category where the Future is better than the V8 is head light and tail light. I'd imagine that the Future only makes sense at under $700 USD. 1 Quote

I spent 3 months with such a wheel in the forest while learning. It only cut out when it was well expected. On inclines at a too high speed. Otherwise it would just beep. 400w is enough to move a person. Though it's not what we crave Quote
