Finn Bjerke Posted October 9 Posted October 9 (edited) 1. I understand that my new ET MAX needs firmware upgrade else its dangerous. 2. I need begode android app to upgrade firmware on my new wheel but the kindergarten ingeneers at Begode have not translated the app to English. Its in *loody chinese unless you change your phones default language to English (Im Danish) 3. The begode app from Android is not the latest updated verion that you can find on Begodes homepage. 4. Registering me as a user so I can upgrade firmware does not work. Conclusion: Catch 22: 1. If you want safety get app to upgrade firmware for begode EUC but register first 2. You can not register due to software errors. 3. Which version of app and firmware you need to be safe is a secret. Im angry but I hope I explain the problems here. folks Im angry - My conclusion is: Buy from other EUC compagnies, begode is still a immature and unsafe. I hope eUC world can help me, alternatively Ill just sell the damn wheel without unpacking it. Oh they ask me to sign this: Also begode have a youtube video about oiling the ET MAX - its in Chinese. Good luck with that ..... Got a 136v fastCharger from Begode for another wheel - the voltage adjustment knob aint working ..... Edited October 28 by Finn Bjerke clearing Quote

Finn Bjerke Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 Very good of you. I have it now but can not register. Getting my et max tomorrow, hoping the firmware can be upgraded using euc world. I don't really trust begode after this. Too much SNAFU. Thx again Quote
Finn Bjerke Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 Okay 2 upgrades are needed for BMS for 20A charging (!) and the other one is firmware Quote

Good luck with that ..... Got a 136v fastCharger from Begode - the voltage adjustment knob aint working ..... Begode ET is almost the only one in the list whose manufacturer does not recommend updating the software! It is written separately which models are bad without updating the software, but ET is left out of this list. He does not have such a problem! The only reason to update the BMS software is if you want to perform 20A charging! However, I would not recommend updating the ET software at all! Some of the new software may damage the motherboard as they are too strict with BMS safety. If the BMS sees a momentary and can only be a deceptive incompatibility, then the motherboard is no longer allowed to be switched on! That's exactly what happened to me. After updating the software, it showed irregular balancing and absurd temperatures a few times. However, when it was turned on once, it did not activate the motherboard anymore! Nothing was visible. Everything looked like new but blocked! The same is happening with the high-voltage batteries of new hybrid cars. In the case of a suspected error, the battery cannot be activated! Excessive safety! After changing the ET motherboard, I didn't make any more updates and I've been driving all summer without any problems! 1 Quote

Who or why should or would want to charge with a 168V ET max-134V charger? But if you think that the 168V charger does not charge the ET max exactly 168V, then there is also a very important reason for this! If you buy an ET max, surely this driver also loves a very aggressive driving style!? If you want aggressive braking immediately after charging and going downhill, there is no place to put the regenerative brake booster and there will be no braking! The ET Max battery is not balancing, like the old EUCs, if it is left plugged in after charging! The BMS handles balancing during charging and even when the EUC is simply on and there is no load. (The blue LED will flash at this time). My ET terminates the so-called charger connection when the total voltage is around 165V. However, according to BMS information, the cells are sufficiently balanced and leaving them on the charger for even a couple of hours will not change anything. However, with the EUC turned on for driving, it balances more accurately after a while. I actually don't have information about it from the manufacturer, but I'm only talking about the ET I used, based on six months of monitoring experience. So I could be wrong Edited October 26 by Raptor Quote
alcatraz Posted October 28 Posted October 28 None of my four Begode/Gotway wheels can be updated and they're running fine after 40000km. I think that when you're used to receiving dangerous products you think you desperately need the updates. 1 Quote
Finn Bjerke Posted October 28 Author Posted October 28 (edited) Solution to BEGODE problems was EUCWORLD app for android. Thx for good info you nice ppl. I have to confess: Begode Et max goes faster and smoother than any other wheel I have tried. So much power even the Lynx feels a little slow in comparison. First 500 km I must say its a wonderfull machine - despite the road tire this wheel does pretty good in the forrest when its dry. Edited October 28 by Finn Bjerke Quote
