Skampster Posted September 24 Posted September 24 (edited) Including resetting the odometer, out on a ride, stop take a leak, turn machine on again, and everything was back to factory settings, even the odometers had reset. Bearing this in mind should I worry at all about the reliability of my main board. Or is this just a glitch and nothing to worry about, apart from the fact that now it’ll be hard to sell the Sherman s with a resetted odometer. Edited September 24 by Skampster Quote
Clem604 Posted September 24 Posted September 24 (edited) I've had the wheel reset itself 4 times now in my 2 years and 24,000km of ownership. It seems to like resetting itself on my wheel when you reach around 4000-6500km mark for some reason. Personally I'm not worried and I do think its just a glitch. Edited September 24 by Clem604 Quote

That’s funny you mentioned the 4000-6500km mark, mine had just gotten over 4000km. The place I bought it from are talking to LK about it, it’ll be interesting to see what they say. 2 Quote
mhpr262 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 my Begode EX20 also reset itself, including the odometer, after a hard crash onto a massive boulder. I wonder what really caused that. Quote
Skampster Posted September 29 Author Posted September 29 @Clem604 in the 24000kms your S has done, what maintenance did you need to do, and I’ll presume you don’t trail ride or ride in the rain………… Quote

I don't ride when it's actively raining but I have been caught in the rain about 5 times in total. Probably 95% of the km's is on the street so minimal trail riding but I've done it a few times. Side note: the Michelin Pilot Street 2 I had installed when the wheel was brand new is still going strong. It's only almost at wear bars @ 24k km's which is as impressive as its dry and wet handling on the street. Edited September 29 by Clem604 Quote
Skampster Posted September 29 Author Posted September 29 (edited) Thanks for that @Clem604 mines the last batch they did before the lynx came out, the batch that had all the improvements included, so I can hopefully rely on mine not having its bearings go like my Sherman max started to do at 5000km. Even if I was to sell it, I don’t know if the S resetting its odometer will be a problem for a new owner. Mines never been on a trail or in the wet. Edited September 29 by Skampster 1 Quote

FWIW mine is a batch 2 which was supposed to have a better bearing than the first batch?? Even if I end up getting a Sherman L i think I'll keep the S and see how many km's I can put on it before things start going wrong. Quote

Update firmware if you're not on the latest- in subsequent firmwares, LK made changes to try to avoid the software condition that triggers reset. Quote
Skampster Posted October 9 Author Posted October 9 Mines the last generation SS and it’s been on the latest firmware since it was released, so there goes that theory. 1 Quote
