zaft Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Hi all, at the end of my cruise this morning I hit a steep part of the road that I thought was a shallow ramp of asphalt at a road repair. Dark asphalt and shade and my sunglasses didn’t mix and I miss judged the depth and angle by just enough to get bucked up an inch from the pedals and fly forward about 3 inches landing back on the front edge of the pedal. Balance was off at this point so I bailed and slammed my foot down as I ran it out. No fall or major injury but hip and back are not happy. The wheel was balancing and rolling forward still so I tried to stop it but it slowed and wobbled to a crash and I shut it off as the lean angle didn’t cut off. Anyways, it balanced again and rode home. Haven’t charged it back yet, it’s at 45% or 73sh volts according to the app. I’m worried about the battery obviously, any easy way to indicate an issue from my pics? 2 Quote
Phonoman Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Looks like just plastic damage to me. You can easily remove the side covers and have a look at the battery underneath if you're worried. 1 Quote
alcatraz Posted September 23 Posted September 23 The v8 battery (v1) is super protected in a hard enclosure and then frame. Cracks lead to contamination. That'll kill your wheel later. Some are hairline cracks. Duct tape? Jb-weld? 1 1 Quote
