Oliver Gould
I ordered a Kingsong 16X. I ordered on my Windows laptop, the price said specifically: tax incl. the delivery price specifically said also tax incl. I am not notified about any additional costs, there is no hint that any additional costs are to be expected. The low price and good reputation of the retailer is why I chose this seller. I send an email before I make the purchase letting them know I am from the UK (in case they can't ship to the UK or if they need to revise the shipping cost and times for a UK delivery). After a couple of delays the item was picked up by FedEx, then I wake up to a text message, I am being charged £1,246.08, for tax, import duty, other charges (it does not specify what these are) and a disbursement fee. I contact Oneride. Oneride say that the additional costs shouldn't be anything like that high, but that there are additional costs. No additional costs were advertised in the purchasing information either in the main store page or in any of the purchasing pages. I let Oneride know this and provide screenshotted evidence to back this up. Oneride say this is a mistake on the website. I ask for a refund and contact the UKICC who tell me that, as there was no mention of any additional costs in the puchasing process and as it clearly states Tax Incl on the price in all of the purchasing steps, that Oneride are in clear breach of the legislation Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Oneride ask whether I want the item redelivered, where they insist I will still need to pay both tax and any other costs despite this not being what I have purchased (my purchase states in black and white tax incl) or I can have the purchase fully refunded. My position is that I will accept a full refund but my preference would be that they honour my purchase which included according to their website tax included on both the the item itself and delivery. Oneride refuse to honour the deal and after over a month of waiting, and a huge amount of stress dealing with a FedEx bill almost as costly as the item itself I am waiting to be refunded so I can go back to square one. UK and Norway, buyer beware. I have visited the store on my android phone since the FedEx bill and the android version of the store has a higher price with tax incl than the windows version, so I assume that is the correct tax incl price. I have notified the company of this and they say they are going to fix the error.
Spiwrs
Just chargeback your credit card and purchase another EUC. PET have them in stock if you want it quickly. If you want to save money and aren’t in a rush then purchase from AliExpress and ask for DPD shipping as then all customs fees are paid beforehand so no extra charges on delivery. Quick look and they start at £1500.
Oliver Gould
Thanks Spiwrs, Oneride are granting me a refund, I am just putting this out there to better inform non-EU customers so they don't make the same mistake
The Brahan Seer
I'm sorry you are going through this. Import tax, shipping and handling costs vary and then 20% VAT on top of all this. On their website (under FAQ) it does say they will sell to the UK without any tax applied. Very Rough example Fed ex shipping rate zone S (Spain)28Kg (shipping weight)= £272.90 https://www.fedex.com/content/dam/fedex/international/rates/fedex-rates-import-en-gb.pdf We are at the whim of customs and the codes they use, eg according to this for an electric vehicle there is no duty: https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/commodities/8703801010?country=ES#import_duties but this code (electric scooters under 250Watts) is 6%: https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/subheadings/8711600000-80 Plus the handling fee's, insurance etc of importers. so shipping cost £272+ (say 5% duty on cost if its £1350) £67.00= Total £339 (£406 including VAT). Then add to what you paid for the wheel and add VAT I would take @Spiwrs advice and buy local or try aliexpress from a vendor others have had no issues with.
Oliver Gould
I completely agree Seer. I didn't read the FAQ EU companies are obligated to make all costs known in the buying procedure, and when I bought the item it stated both the item and shipping prices had tax incl. Unfortunately this was due to an error on their website.
DavidB
Buy local. Re the different prices on Windows and Android. Welcome to the world of Google dynamic pricing where the price you are quoted is not what it is worth but what Google thinks you can afford to pay based on the reams of your personal data that they have been collecting. Oliver Gould
Hi David. Unfortunately this isn't a Google dynamics pricing issue. The incorrect information is on the company website throughout the entire purchasing process, across all the Web pages.
Planemo
I'm always very wary of anything stating 'taxes included' now we are out of the EU, even when buying items from the EU. I do get that you simply went by what you were being told though. erides, PET or Speedyfeet for new UK wheels are your best options. I wouldn't even bother going via Ali now (which I did several times in the past) as I just can't trust that they won't arrive with additional charges despite what the vendor might state. All imports seem to be under far more scrutiny after Brexit. Our pre-Brexit days of cheap Ali wheels into the UK seem to be numbered
Oliver Gould
I know Planemo, without wishing to get political, I wonder if leaving one of the largest trading blocks in the world was a great idea for our small island nation.

Once you've been burned once, local looks so much better and if they are a bricks and morter crowd you know they have skin in the game. They have invested in the community. Poker
I was looking at this thread before I ordered my Blitz. As someone living outside the EU I face the same problem. I guess its new to Brits but honestly you should just not trust any foreign shop that say tax included in the price. What I did on oneride was make an account where I registered my address and then all the pricing was correct. They also use FedEx for shipping so if you make an account there and register your Visa card they will pay the VAT automatically without adding a fat fee on top. Its my first time buying from Oneride and I got no complaints so far. 1
