Hi, I need your help please …

It’s happened I’ve bought Velcro straps without the selfadhesive background 🙊🙉🙈

I just have had a quick look on eBay ~ but all I can see it’s mostly narrow tape things…

My Velcro is 15cm in width ~ could you share your recommendation what doublesided tape (sheet?) works best to attach it please?

My advice is don't try and fix that with double side tape - you will probably struggle to find any that is stronger in grip than the velcro itself, which means it will be constantly falling off the wheel whenever you try and adjust your pads, and, with time, anyway, as dust and whatnot works its way in via the corners and edges, regardless of pad movement or not.

The pre-coated stuff tends to have glue actually wicked into the fabric, so it holds a lot better than tape on non-sticky velcro, which is often less robust on the edges so you can get a needle through it.

So my advice is send that back, and re-buy the right stuff.

I see your point 👍

This is why it’s bonded so well to the Velcro’s surface …

It’s glued …

Thank you 👍

Good question. I have been plagued with my velcro not sticking and it's so expensive. Super glue sticky tabs to the rescue. They only cost $1.25 at Dollar Tree. Or you can use this kind of glue from Hobby Lobby.stickytabs.png.3d43c32defcf1bf0e703d5bf0e876db1.pngglue.png.f1a535561341b973c116df139bb9b413.png

Thanks for help @woke rider 👍

I have handy similar double sided 3M pads, usually used to attach the GoPro camera adapters to the helmet or elsewhere…

I’m aware how strongly they bond surfaces together, so I wanted ask this question in here, before any attempt if you know I mean…

But your sticky pads are very similar, aren’t they?

Don't they ruin the side panel of the wheel please?

Same question regarding your glue advice …

Will it leave marks on the side of the wheel panels please?

Thanks for help.

My velcro came with an adhesive but it just wasn't strong enough for my power domes and they kept popping off. It's an issue. So I let the adhesive on my velcro cure to the wheel which helped alot. The Super glue sticky tabs are affixed to my power domes, not the side panels of my wheel. I think the super glue kind contain actual super glue, whereas 3m might not have actual super glue and might not work. It's a work in progress. My power domes don't pop off anymore. The glue or the pads might stain your wheel, or you might be able to clean the glue stains off with goo gone. The struggle is real.

Don't worry about getting it off the wheel eventually - not much resists heat, isopropyl alcohol and sticky stuff remover. As long as you don't get a glue that actually melts the plastic of course, which I believe E6000 doesn't.

I have noticed that these electric unicycles really do resist anything sticking to them. EUC's resist modification. But, never fear, it can be done.

Have you tried "Alien Tape"?

It's one of those "as seen on tv" products. I attached a cooler handle as a trolley handle to the front of my mten3 with just 2 strips of Alien tape, and I could pick it up off the ground just by handle. Family Dollar usually has it for $10.

It is one of few things that will stick to an EUC.

There’s multiple similar products on the market as you know, not any easy task which to go for 😉

No I have not experience with mentioned tape, but following your feedback it must do the job pretty well!

I went for the glue mentioned by @woke rider E6000 👍

I have some 3M type tape too, you know, the sticky one used to attach GoPro adapters to the helmet for example…

I liked the glue idea because I can easily smear it precisely where I want it, so if the corner will get loose ~ I can fix it precisely there…

Let see how it goes 😉👍

Thank you.

You can look for 3M adhesive transfer sheets that uses 300LSE adhesive (for example https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/products/detail/3m/8132le-24-x36/8568621). 300LSE adhesive is remarkable for its strong bond to almost any surface, including rubber-like plastic coatings, powder coated paints etc.

Thanks a lot @Seba 👍

This is exactly I was looking for, but failed find it..?!

I could see that the back of the power pads is covered with self adhesive tape, but it’s full size tape, like sheet cut ~ so I wanted to get it, but couldn’t find where to buy …

Thanks for the UK link as well ~ my friends from Poland usually are sharing Polish links to me (🙉🙊🙈)

I’ve got the link saved!

Thanks again.

3M's 300LSE adhesive is great, you won't be disappointed. You may find a lot of products using 300LSE, like adhesive transfer sheets in different formats and thickness, double-sided tapes etc.

Seems it's quite common, as my English friends are sharing English links to me :D:D:D
