List of differences between the Lynx and the Sherman S?

Recommended Posts

I’m trying to come up with a comprehensive list of the differences between the Sherman S and the Lynx.  Could you guys help me add to the list below, or correct any inaccuracies?

The Lynx, compared to the Sherman S….

* has higher voltage for higher top speed, faster charging, faster acceleration/braking, more power for climbing or for plowing upstairs or through turbulent terrain.

* has a smart BMS

* has a telescopic trolley handle

* has PWM based tilt back

* has progressive springs in the shocks

* is lighter, taller, and has a sturdier kickstand

* tail lights have discrete left/right turn signals

* no more lasers on tail light

* is a bit less stable at high-speeds

* seems to have a few more reported incidents of cutouts then the Sherman S

* more prone to wobbles at higher speeds

* pedals have friction hinges rather than ratcheting hinges

*Smaller battery and thus less range

* magnesium instead of aluminum wheel rim

* more temperature sensors in the batteries

* no reports yet of odometer suddenly getting wiped out

* charger is noisier and some of them are set to too high of a voltage by default, requiring the user to be careful about max charging or to open the charger up to adjust the potentiometer to a lower max voltage.

* inherits some of the later batch improvements from the Sherman S that the first S units did not have including the CNC’d shock clamps, improved quality bearings, and pedal design without the raised edges that prevent the  spikes from grabbing the rider’s shoes.

* easier tire changes

* silicone covers for the shock adjuster knobs

* charging port moved from the front to the tail side

* improved waterproofing through a double housing design over the board.

* buttons around the screen protrude instead of being recessed

* less surface area on the sides for power pad placement

* integrated adjustable foot-securing “pads” for jumping and staying planted on the pedals in bumpy terrain
