no i didn't but based on one of my s22 chargers by the same manufacturer, not surprised.

no, i was kidding u because ur always wanting every electron out of a charge.

i'm gonna start going with elon's explanation of electrons tring to find a place to park in a rapidly fillimg parking lot.

since i'm usually charging off generator/gas, it's a twofer for me.

"The more you charge, the longer it takesFor a battery, the charge state tapers off as you get above 80%.” “I think the right analogy here is cars in a parking lot,” he continued. “The lithium ions are trying to find a parking space as they move across from one side of the battery to the other side.”Nov 23, 2023"

i'm trying to re-use the lynx pedals with the new beidou lowered hangers but these little phillips head screws holding the plastic endcap have me perplexed. got two out on one but the other two aren't budging.

is there a trick?

haha, there is a conspiracy against leaperkim or lynx on this forum.

anyway. i'll post info here for other dummies like me.

another 7 miles padless today.

the lowered pedals, i guess. i found stock pefectly fine except for the middle poistion. so idk if i'd do the drop again. oh yeah, btw, i marlked this giant hole that would literally eat a v14 or patton or any small diameter wheel, and i did bottom out but i rolled right thru the center of it because i saw it too late.

great wheel. the best evah for this raw land u can't see where ur going, riding.

@novazeus so you are loving the Lynx more than your V13? I have been eyeballing the Lynx for a while. I thought I read somewhere that you said the V13 is your best wheel? Has the Lynx changed this?

yes, absolutely!

i'm posting a video of a 11 mile ride i just did, haha, two 5.5 mile rides because i didn't press the shutter button so had to do it twice. thc side effects.

and haha, disclaimer, i got it sunday, so not much riding sunday, and i have 86.7 miles on it now, and those are 99% pasture/woods miles. i really don't know how it handles on pavement yet. these tedious, straining pasture miles is how i chose to burn it in. faceplanting on dirt is better than my cheese grater road.

the v13's are great wheels, i love them, along with my s22's, not selling anything, except if somebody wanted this molicel s18, i'd definitely part with it. a great learner wheel, but if i was advising somebody getting a wheel for the first time, i'd say, get a lynx. if they were buying only one last wheel, i'd say, get a lynx. watch my video. trust me, i'm no roger, but i just rode this route twice and stayed vertical the whole time. for me that is winning!

and i no less than nothing about gotway/begode/commander whatever.

GET A LYNX! u won't regret it. it's in another league offroad.

playing with my new scale. enlightening. watch those oreos.

me as i was born, nekkid! 6'0" skinniest i've been in adult life.

this is protected for riding.

this is strapped.

here's my lynx.

and here's the tire that came with it.

267 max load at 33psi

so, 267- 187- 86.2 = i'm 6.2 pounds over the maximum load carrying capacity at the speed it's rated for. another reason i haven't been bombing it on pavement. i can tell the tire is overloaded. on dirt that's almost preferable. my 38psi pavement pressure on the jeep i would let go down to 25psi, but never drive it on pavement like that.

with my harley jacket, that's another 8 pounds. i bet in winter, i'm over 200pounds.

i bottom out going fast but i haven't touched the preload. would adding preload diminish bottoming out on fast runs?

Has anyone truly abused the lowering pedal hangers with large drops or big jumps?

6061 would not have been my first choice. Would have expected them to be 7075.

just rode my 5 mile route over the ranch.

idk much about this 66lb suspension, i have it at no pre-load and the screws all the way clockwise, and it's absolutely perfect for my 170 naked and 187 pound riding weight with my 45 holstered. and that's only helmet from the waist up for protection.

and to be clear, i anticipated this exact scenario, and wanted a trials type euc, and the 66lb suspension does that. but my fast rides on that same path, the 66lb bottoms out alot. pretty jarring, like bounced off pedals jarring, i think the lynx is about as soft as my 750 lb spring diy s22pro.

long story even longer, if my money comes thru as it should, i'm buying a 70lb lynx next week. and not changing the shocks on this one. might rename her mule after the conveyance the prospectors used out west where marty and roger ride, because mules have more sense and wouldn't go where it was too dangerous for them. horses were like marty's gang, "u wanna go there? sure no problem" and the horse and all their shit would tumble down the mountainside. the new one will be lynx with a street tire.

just posting this for educational purposes.

and keep in mind, if u can imagine stairs laid horizontally, then sprinkled with builders sand, that's my terrain, it's raw mother earth. why slow is my spice of life!

debating getting a good knobby maybe. idk what the best debris/leaves/acorns tire is.590BEDDC-7160-4F4A-A282-CAADDA23B872.jpeg.194bc2648bcb93ba990bb1393dff56d7.jpeg3DE2B9E1-DE56-4549-AB78-75C4D514FD3D.jpeg.f33288638e54d824acb1262de92396e5.jpeg6A551A98-124E-46DC-A81A-E899701746B7.jpeg.7757cf5510fa4c6e6223aeab0eb3724d.jpeg1F200620-90B3-4240-B01A-ECBBEA0C14D5.jpeg.c6a34cd88e2c4c00cbfe5dd61e235f63.jpeg

decent fuel economy for a fast run.

scratching my head now.

how can the leaperkim folks be so good at electronics and suck at tires.

why didn't they just use the knobby that comes on the s22 pro? it's 319 pounds max loading at 41psi, much better tire than the stock knobby at 267 pounds max loading at 33psi. and only 75mm wide. i'm pretty sure it will fit and i have a brand new one here i might put on this mule.

this is useful. if u turn off high speed mode, u add low end torque.

at least that's what my seat of the pants take is after just coming off a 5 mile ranch ride.

just when i thought it couldn't get better for low speed technical riding!

the lynx is definitely the gold standard out here, something to shoot for with my other wheels.

so, using my tire theory, i weigh 187 all geared up for summer, the lynx weighs 86 so (187+86)1.20=290, well under the king song s22 knobby rating of 319 at 41psi.

i have a brand new take off i'm looking at and i'm wondering if it can be mounted tubeless on the lynx?

Looks like your charger is set a bit too high (1V too much!), I adjusted mine down to 151.2V and would recommend that.

i'm gonna get another lynx asap 70lb version and i'll try that charger on this one.

normally, since solar is an absolute joke, and i live in tampa, florida, the sunshine state,

i charge using a generator, and ever since elon explain to me about how to charge batteries, i normally monitor the charging and stop the process around 90ish.

initially i like to see if the charger works properly, ie my first s22 charger does not for some reason, unbalanced packs, new charger fixed it, but since i store outside, bagged in keter outside storage boxes, and charge outside using a gasoline powered generator(off grid)i'm pretty stingy about manufacturing electrons for anything because the windmill is broke, so i need electrons for water and electronics. and i don't need range, i just need lots of wheels. one gets low on battery, i change wheels, like pony express. i charge at 60% and above. depends on how many wheels need charging. i can charge two at once on my smallest  generator.

Adjusting the charger is not that difficult, I described it in the Lynx thread, just a small screw and measure with multimeter, maybe ewheels has a detailed guide how to do it?

yes, thanks. jason and his guys already sent me a video of how to do it, but like i said,  i monitor my charging because i don't like wasting gas and will rarely ever top them off, if elon is correct.

found this so i may be ok anyway.

What is The Lithium Battery Overcharge?

Refers to when the lithium battery is being charged, the charging voltage exceeds the set voltage, such as the rated voltage of the battery is 3.7V, and the fully charged voltage is 4.2±0.05V. That is, the maximum voltage is 4.25V, and it is called an overcharge if it exceeds 4.25V.

Lithium battery overcharge is like a ticking time bomb, ready to detonate and potentially cause catastrophic harm. It occurs when too much charge is applied to a lithium battery, resulting in an excessive build-up of energy that can cause the cells within it to rapidly heat up and even catch fire. This hazard presents a grave risk for anyone using or working with such batteries, as well as those who interact with them on a daily basis.

Do you still get cell balancing at 151.2? What's the voltage you see in your Lynx cells when you charge them "fully"?

my lynx 40mm forward backplate that works with or without the beidou pedal drop, gets shipped to me along with my v13 70mm drop and 40mm forward backplates.

can't wait to try them.
