Has the Lynx changed this? yes, absolutely! i'm posting a video of a 11 mile ride i just did, haha, two 5.5 mile rides because i didn't press the shutter button so had to do it twice. thc side effects. and haha, disclaimer, i got it sunday, so not much riding sunday, and i have 86.7 miles on it now, and those are 99% pasture/woods miles. i really don't know how it handles on pavement yet. these tedious, straining pasture miles is how i chose to burn it in. faceplanting on dirt is better than my cheese grater road. the v13's are great wheels, i love them, along with my s22's, not selling anything, except if somebody wanted this molicel s18, i'd definitely part with it. a great learner wheel, but if i was advising somebody getting a wheel for the first time, i'd say, get a lynx. if they were buying only one last wheel, i'd say, get a lynx. watch my video. trust me, i'm no roger, but i just rode this route twice and stayed vertical the whole time. for me that is winning! and i no less than nothing about gotway/begode/commander whatever. novazeus Posted March 16 Author Share Posted March 16 playing with my new scale. enlightening. watch those oreos. me as i was born, nekkid! 6'0" skinniest i've been in adult life. this is protected for riding. this is strapped. here's my lynx. and here's the tire that came with it. 267 max load at 33psi so, 267- 187- 86.2 = i'm 6.2 pounds over the maximum load carrying capacity at the speed it's rated for. another reason i haven't been bombing it on pavement. i can tell the tire is overloaded. on dirt that's almost preferable. my 38psi pavement pressure on the jeep i would let go down to 25psi, but never drive it on pavement like that. with my harley jacket, that's another 8 pounds. i bet in winter, i'm over 200pounds. i bottom out going fast but i haven't touched the preload. would adding preload diminish bottoming out on fast runs? novazeus Posted March 17 Author Share Posted March 17 (edited) just rode my 5 mile route over the ranch. idk much about this 66lb suspension, i have it at no pre-load and the screws all the way clockwise, and it's absolutely perfect for my 170 naked and 187 pound riding weight with my 45 holstered. and that's only helmet from the waist up for protection. and to be clear, i anticipated this exact scenario, and wanted a trials type euc, and the 66lb suspension does that. but my fast rides on that same path, the 66lb bottoms out alot. pretty jarring, like bounced off pedals jarring, i think the lynx is about as soft as my 750 lb spring diy s22pro. long story even longer, if my money comes thru as it should, i'm buying a 70lb lynx next week. and not changing the shocks on this one. might rename her mule after the conveyance the prospectors used out west where marty and roger ride, because mules have more sense and wouldn't go where it was too dangerous for them. horses were like marty's gang, "u wanna go there? sure no problem" and the horse and all their shit would tumble down the mountainside. the new one will be lynx with a street tire. just posting this for educational purposes. and keep in mind, if u can imagine stairs laid horizontally, then sprinkled with builders sand, that's my terrain, it's raw mother earth. why slow is my spice of life! debating getting a good knobby maybe. idk what the best debris/leaves/acorns tire is. decent fuel economy for a fast run. novazeus Posted March 17 Author Share Posted March 17 scratching my head now. how can the leaperkim folks be so good at electronics and suck at tires. why didn't they just use the knobby that comes on the s22 pro? it's 319 pounds max loading at 41psi, much better tire than the stock knobby at 267 pounds max loading at 33psi. and only 75mm wide. i'm pretty sure it will fit and i have a brand new one here i might put on this mule. novazeus Posted March 18 Author Share Posted March 18 this is useful. if u turn off high speed mode, u add low end torque. at least that's what my seat of the pants take is after just coming off a 5 mile ranch ride. just when i thought it couldn't get better for low speed technical riding! the lynx is definitely the gold standard out here, something to shoot for with my other wheels. novazeus Posted March 18 Author Share Posted March 18 so, using my tire theory, i weigh 187 all geared up for summer, the lynx weighs 86 so (187+86)1.20=290, well under the king song s22 knobby rating of 319 at 41psi. i have a brand new take off i'm looking at and i'm wondering if it can be mounted tubeless on the lynx?
