louissimps
So I have been loving up on my IPS 121 for some time now, last week I got a flat tire. I tried filling with air and it just seeps back out. I searched around and found some folks showing how to replace the tire. Here is my issue I can't get the tire off the rim, is there a tool I can use that won't damage the rim or tire. Current mood: #bummed Can anyone help? dmethvin
You can use "tire irons" that you can get from a bike shop, or any sturdy smooth round metal object like the back end of a spoon. Here's a video if that helps:
louissimps
So yes I watched this one and thanks for posting it. But if you look at :16 in the clip. then on :17 he already has the iron under the tire, it doesn't show where you shove the tire iron in between the tire and the rim, that is the part that is not achievable by me. I will post a pic later. I even broke a screwdriver trying to pry it over the rim.
dmethvin
Getting the first and second ones in is definitely the hard part, be very careful using a screwdriver because it can pinch and tear the tube. The technique is the same for all tires with tubes so any video about changing bike tires can show you the detail.
louissimps
Of course now my tube repair didn't work, I need to replace the tube I think. I tried looking online for a 14" tube, but not having much luck finding one with a curved stem
dmethvin
I had a similar problem with my original tube, it failed near the stem and the patch would not hold. Here are some sources for a tube if you're in the USA. I used "bent valve 14 tube" for a search: http://www.amazon.com/Electric-Bicycle-Scooter-Inner-14X2-125/dp/B00U7BEYC2 http://www.amazon.com/14x2-125-Inner-Angled-Valve-Electric/dp/B00PKJNBG6/ http://www.amazon.com/14x2-125-Inner-Angled-Valve-gasoline/dp/B00QJS2172/
