Euphoria Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Hi all. Yesterday this fellow arrived at my placehttp://en.eyu.co/Electricwheelbarrow/product_16.html It may be a re-badged machine from someone else. I have, alas no idea. So far I've managed to get in oooh, almost 45 mins of fiddling around, falling off and holding onto the top of the fence for grim death. First impressions are that the device is acceptable, but not excellent. Build quality seems ok, but the paint on the handle hasn't been finished neatly, and the colourful LED lights don't seem to work too well on the blue channel. I'm an utter newb when it comes to riding so I can't give any information regarding how well it behaves yet. Give me a while and I'll write more.

Nice to know someone else has one, I guess I'm not surprised at the power comment ;-)
Gimlet Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 My first wheel was an EYU. They are a large company and do make their own machines as far as I can tell. Mine was a little under powered but it was the cheapest wheel in their range. When I contacted them with a minor problem they were very supportive in helping me fix it with links to instructional videos on how to reset the wheel.
Michael de Gans Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Your link states the V5 model has a 800W motor with 132Wh battery and the V5S has a 500W motor and 174Wh battery. Are these specs correct?

Are these specs correct? For the motor wattages, almost certainly not. It may be a typo and the numbers are back to front, but some other data implies that the wattage may be as low as 350 watts. As soon as I get a moment I'll pop the lid off the machine and see what I can see... 20 hours ago, Gimlet said: My first wheel was an EYU. Did you download any companion app to go with the wheel ? If so, did it work ?
Michael de Gans Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 @Euphoria My guess was they probably switched it. I'm also guessing the wattage could be peak power instead of sustained.
Gimlet Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 My EYU was the cheapest in their range with no app or connectivity. Here's what I had to do to recalibrate it: http://forum.electricunicycle.org/topic/67-level-calibration-for-eyuco-may-apply-to-other-cheap-imports/#comment-238

Classic case of 'Spec inflation', there's not a chance it has a real 800W Motor. As a general rule anything less than 32 cells (with King Song it's 64) is wasted with a 800W motor, since the power pack will not able to provide sufficient sustained power to anything approaching 800W.

Lots of wheels have very similar appearance.

WakefulTraveller Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I was thinking of buying the V5S from Eyu as my first wheel, I even went ahead and contacted the supplier on AliExpress and asked about the wattage of the motor, and they claimed their editor made a typo and that the motor is actually 500 watt (they have since corrected their specs). I'm assuming that this thing can go around 10 mph sustained. I like that it has a 16" a inch wheel with a 7 cm width. I'm thinking of holding off on buying a wheel at the moment and instead save up for something more powerful (because the idea of being passed by a bicycle does not appeal to me). I'm thinking of getting the Gotway ACM 16" whenever that gets released (the preorder price is absolutely insane). Naturally I'm also looking at the KS-16.
