John Eucist Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Notice: I do not plan to continue to maintain this list on a regular basis. Sorry folks. The prices are typically the median prices listed on taobao and often coincide with the suggested retail price from the manufacturer. More often than not you can get them cheaper than the listed price if you visit a physical local dealer in China. However, do not expect these prices outside of China as the shipping costs alone can be in the hundreds of US dollars. Exchange rate for US Dollars and Euro are according to Google as of October 30, 2014 (mostly). Use the RMB figure and check current exchange rates with your currency. André Liu Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Very useful Could you add a column with battery size, especially for models such as X3 existing with either 132 or 170 Wh battery ? Other products that could be added to this list are the following : - dolphin one (http://s.taobao.com/search?q=dolphin%20one&suggest=0_2&wq=dolphin%20&suggest_query=dolphin%20&source=suggest&spm=a215z.7106357.5803581.d4908513&sourceId=tb.index&search_type=mall&ssid=s5-e&commend=all) - SML 140 - SML 160
Austin Marhold Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Don't add the dolphin one, I have tried it and it's literally one of the worst designs ever. Like worse than the airwheel X3 which is really bad already. The SML on the otherhand are an OK design but are insanely heavy.
André Liu Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I believe that : - SML 140 is 12 kg (like solowheel or X8) - SML 160 is 15 kg Even if they are insanely heavy, they still are interesting and original alternatives to other models.
Jeff Kho Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 What about the TeamGee (TG) ones? T3 M3 H8 A8 Q1 UFO You can see them here: http://www.teamgee.com/product.php I see them for sale on ebay, banggood, dx, etc.
^tom^ Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 As arbee wrote; there are 1000'ssss of wheels and 100's of brands. Without a review or technical data you have only a price that does not help anything for a buyer.
John Eucist Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 It helps to know how much you're getting ripped off if you have decided on a wheel.
viver Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 The list below are the current prices as of October 30, 2014 for your reference. This post will be periodically updated as prices change and new models are introduced. John Eucist Posted January 29, 2015 Author Posted January 29, 2015 I really should update it but I've been lazy . What I do is just go on taobao.com and look for the median price. You can can even do it yourself and also see photos of any unit on a taobao search.
Shady Tools Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 I have recently been quoted more than that for a Gotway MSuper, have they gone up in price?
John Eucist Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 The one on the list is the 680wh version. The 850wh version costs more. I should update it later.
Shady Tools Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 I've been hoping to be able to jump it up kerbs that don't have a driveway on but apparently 18" & a big battery is too heavy :-(
Gimlet Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 From the looks of the YouTube video of the 18" going up steps it's more a matter of rolling up them than jumping so the weight won't matter.
Shady Tools Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 I'm certainly going to try that :-) If I have to pick between speed & stunts then speed will win everytime. I just hope it's a while before they get banned.
goodgood Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 One thing regarding the prices. the USD is a lot stronger now, so the prices in USD are no longer correct.
^tom^ Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Prices are from taobao and there are ONLY RMB and still correct. As written; Exchange rate for US Dollars and Euro are according to Google as of October 30, 2014.
John Eucist Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Yeah exchange rates fluctuated I'm sure. I don't think I'll continue to maintain this list as it is very time consuming. Maybe someone else want to volunteer?
Shady Tools Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I'm not sure how to check signatures mate. Maybe because I use my phone?
^tom^ Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 hmmm, I do not know why. Sorry. Here my signature: Rockwheel GR12" with 300wh, GotWay MCM 14"V2 with 340wh, NoName 14" with 88wh, GotWay 18" with 680wh (My) range in the hills is about 5km per 100wh
Shady Tools Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I read on another thread that dividing the wh by 14 is a good guide for distance so that's what I've been doing. That doesn't add up with your calculations though. I usually take a bit off because I'm at the upper range of most wheels weight though. The best review I've seen by far was an American guy that went around the shops doing usual tasks & then went round a flat running track. He gave the average speed, distance, temperature etc for each run (it didn't make loads of sense as the run around the track seemed to be about 1kph faster, lasted 5 minutes & he went just over a mile, the run around the shops was about 8.33 miles). I spent ages looking for it on YouTube yesterday to share it on here but couldn't find it.
^tom^ Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Are you looking for this: ? There are different factor you get with a battery. I have arround 100 Kilo, living in the hills (no flat grounds) and drive with (only) 3 bar of tire pressure. So if no hills arround, I am only 75 Kilo and put 3.5 bar in my tire, maybe I get 50% more mileages with the same battery. It also depense on the ground you are driving on. How smoother it is less power you need the get forward. And, if you go all in a single trip or you have a break every 10 minutes, it changes again. Battery temp. or outside temp is valid or not....depense. If you come with your EU from your appartment, drain the battery with one trip, it has almost no effect as long it is not getting over 30° Celsius. But in cold areas you will have no problem with your distance in that case (single trip no break).
Shady Tools Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 That's exactly the video I was looking for :-D I would like to see every EU rated like this on manufacturers websites & in reviews. I will be happy to help once my Gotway arrives :-)
Gimlet Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 ^tom^, you forgot to mention speed. As with a car the faster and more aggressively you drive the quicker you run out of juice. I've found this driving style factor to have the greatest single effect on range.
^tom^ Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 ^tom^, you forgot to mention speed. As with a car the faster and more aggressively you drive the quicker you run out of juice. I've found this driving style factor to have the greatest single effect on range. hmmm, I know that. With cars you have it arround above 45km/h and we are far away from this speed. Below this 45km/h the roll resistance is higher then the wind resistance. So the effect from the ground is higher then from the air. But, if I drive 20km/h I need a certain current for that speed, and below a certain battery level this current can not longer be taken. But for 10km/h the current is still availabe and I can drive another 5 miles or so without overload the battery.
