Hoping someone else has had this issue and can recommend any tests..

  • Segway MiniPro won't power down
  • I've tried:
    • removing/replacing battery
    • power button works, tries to power down, then just doesn't
    • feels like a bad foot pad sensor- eg: it behaves as if someone is still standing on it
      • i'm fairly technical and have a good multimeter - does anyone know if i can measure the resistance or something else on the individual sensors to see if they are malfunctioning?  At the very minimum i was going to poke around and try to measure each sensor and see if they are consistent
      • I've had it completely apart and do not see any foreign elements under the pads or in the recessed area under the pads where the sensor button goes
    • recalibrated more times than I can count
      • performs as expected, wheels rotate opposite direction, etc
      • when placed upright - everything appears to work correctly - just won't turn off
    • cannot see any error codes/lights flashing
    • the app isn't able to turn if off either
      • no sw updates applied immediately prior to the issue surfacing
  • Here is a link to a video showing above symptoms

thanks in advance!!!

oops - worth mentioning before someone comments on the video as it shows me pressing on the pad because I am holding the battery.  I've actually screwed the battery-on so that I don't touch the pad and it behaves the same way.

thanks again!

Hello,

I just timed my old Mini to power off.
after 9 minutes, it starts beeping for about forty seconds and stops beeping
after 12 minutes and 52 seconds: it turns itself off

I think you have to disassemble the "cabin" to first check if the start button inside has not remained pressed
