It looks identical to some of the offroad scooter motors really, which would explain the tire size. I'm very tempted to get this as a toss in the car/let the nephew ride it wheel. winterwheel
My biggest problem with MTen3 is the ease with which they get flat tires. Hoping the new tires are a bit better on that score.

Hoping the new tires are a bit better on that score. Have you tried the 60/70-6.5 non-pneumatic "Honeycomb" / "Porous" / "Puncture-Proof" tires like the one below? Doing the math, it should fit the MTen3 6.5" rim. I'm guessing the ride is a bit firmer than pneumatic tires, but this would solve the flat issue outright. I'm hoping the new Maestro-style design of the MTen4 makes tire changes a bit easier, although with my old MTen3, I got pretty quick at splitting the shell because I had that many inner tube changes *smh.

It seems from pics that the sidewall and top compartment clearances (moreso sidewall clearance) will be the limiting factors here, regardless if you can technically fit said wider tire on the rim independent of the wheel shell. There's not a lot of room to play with on the sides and undershell, so you could drop the motor/tire with something like pedal risers, to accommodate a bigger tire outer diameter, as the wider tires tend to grow in that outer diameter, but there's no easy solution for the shell rub that looks like would happen if you went laterally outward with a tire wider than 90mm. First thing that caught my eye was the Innova, for the balanced mixed use tread, reminding me of the balanced mixed use tread of the stock V2 Monster tire, which I always loved. I had always dreamt of putting this on my old MTen3 back in the day when I still had. I'm definitely buying this tire at the very least (depending on what tire options eWheels is offering) Another tire I am probably also getting is the CST Street tire (again, unless this is the street tire eWheels is offering, I def don't want the "off-road tire" with all those gaps, terrible for city), because all the other street 90/65-6.5 options I listed have that sharp tread-to-sidewall edge (CST street sidewall edge is more rounded), which will create an upright motorcycle / Z10 style gyro effect, something I'm not looking for on a small compact like the MTen4. Also, the studded Tuovt looks mighty interesting for specialty use, East Coast thin snow and icy pavement. On 8/23/2022 at 12:31 AM, ZweemZ said: Rubber quality is priority, are any of these premier brands? LOL who knows FWIW, CST is a brand we all know in the EUC world, so that is what it is. Don't expect like dense heavily engineered rubber that you get from the world-renowned tire brands like Michelin or Continental. But honestly, while 90/65-65. tire options from these brands would be interesting for sure, I kind of don't want such an overly dense and heavy rubber that those brands would present, would prefer more like a denser-than-average, but still relatively lighter tire, since weight is a factor for why I'm getting the MTen4. On 8/23/2022 at 12:31 AM, ZweemZ said: so the rim dimensions ARE different? I was thinking the tire was just larger, so the rim is larger eh? Same rim diameter like @Eucner says, but dunno rim width, though the sidewall doesn't look like it would allow for much wider, if any. On 8/23/2022 at 12:31 AM, ZweemZ said: i really would like to know more about the motor, everyone wants to know if the axle is larger etc. also how does the weight of it compare, the extra battery and wattage of the motor prolly add like 5 lbs. that, and the shape kinda make it not quite the backpack friendly wheel anymore... still i love my two mtens, prolly gonna put one on the market to pre-order this one. Some educated guesses here. A product like the MTen4, they don't want the components cost to skyrocket, in order to keep the retail price in a reasonable price range, given the nature and compact idea of the MTen segment, so they're most likely using a modified off-the-shelf mass-produced scooter motors, which also explains why the 6.5 rim size matches scooters like the Dualtron Ultra, Thunder, Zero11X, etc. (also, much time has passed since the launch of the MTen3, allowing better economies of scale for these better more powerful scooter motors). This would also explain the lack of a thicker axle, as scooters distribute the weight across two motor axles. Also, I'm guessing the majority of the increased weight is coming from the higher 1kW motor, as in general, more powerful motors tend to be heavier than the lesser power motor counterparts, with more metal weight I'm guessing from more windings(?) I'm wondering if one was handy and resourceful, how possible it would be to retrofit a 24mm nut standard axle 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Edited August 24, 2022 by houseofjob

Rich Sam
I'm in for one as well! Could not resist! I would be very careful putting a solid\honey comb tire on this. Tires without air will put more stress on the axel, which is suspect to be weak already. Of all the new wheels that came out of this gen... This one excited me the most lol

-iB-
Nice vid, very promising little wheel. it's making it much harder for me to resist this... I'm almost tempted to switch my T4 deposit to this instead, but I need at least 1 wheel that can go longer distances! I kinda miss wheel delimma!
