CeBIT is the largest and most internationally represented computer and technology expo. The trade fair is held each year in Hanover, Germany. It is considered a barometer of current trends and a measure of the state of the art in information technology, organized by Deutsche Messe AG. At CeBIT 2016, Airwheel will tell you the transportation development trend in Hall 17-H06 from 14 - 18 March.

CeBIT 2016

CeBIT was first established in 1970, with the opening of the Hanover fairground's new Hall 1, then the largest exhibition hall in the world. It is considered a barometer of current trends and a measure of the state of the art in information technology. It is organized by Deutsche Messe AG.

At CeBIT 2016, from 14 - 18 March, Airwheel self-balancing electric scooter will tell you the transportation development trend in Hall 17-H06, which must belong to the green and convenient vehicle.

Convenience for me means it can be used street legal. Any Infos on that issue?

Being green means no emission and than we look on the chain of the vehicle lifecycle (manufacturing a vehicle, usage (where does the power come from?/ is the power green/ environmental friendly), destroying/ recycling).

How would you like to tell a European customer where to use it? What have you done to make this vehicle category street legal? I appreciate that you come to Europe and Germany. What is your expectation? What are the market demands? Why is the sales in Germany so low (financial strong, 90 mil pollution, over 40 mil cars registered on street)?

you can ride Airwheel in the park or the shopping mall, or if office space is very large, I believe S6 is very suitable.

:P:P

Nope. The park is public traffic. And the other areas are not covered by any insurance in most countries.

Let me speak in general:

All the Chinese companies like to sell their products and no one has a real vision, concept or understanding of the markets.

In which workgroups/ on which standards is any Chinese Company contributing/ attending to get a solution (street legal/ insurance sorted out) in the mid/ long term?

Airwheel has ISO 9001 certification so chances are good to follow other certification/ approval paths if available and suitable to the products and their features.

As we know France and Finland are the only countries allowing PLEV on the street in public traffic. And the status in France could change what I was told.

We've to look on two szenarios:

PLEV - maybe a couple can follow this rules (that will become a voluntary standard, so not sure which country will adopt it or if it becomes a interims standard)

Type approval: Currently no one

Regarding type approval: Which manufacturer has the respect and understanding to dive into regulation stuff? There're two candidates/ manufacturers and a project currently able to follow this journey. All electric unicycles with low power motors will have no chance to pass any inspection (e.g. braking with guarantee weight (there's a minimum weight also for this vehicles)) or drive test (overcharging test on downhill track, incline test (low power vehicles will result in faceplants), behaviour handling in general). I know what they do over here in Switzerland. Market share can and will change with regulation. 2016 can be a consolidation/ preparing for 2017. Companies let pass time by and doing nothing will have a hard awakening.

With regulations there's a hard cut. Companies can still copy technology and design but the key of success is managing regulations. Without approvals you can't sell any device and customs can seize the non compatible devices (send back or destroy). There will be definitely another skill level necessary. The electric unicycles are vehicles not toys.

The first comes and serves. Like the ABBA song: The winner takes it all.

Yes, this is the key point. Here in the USA the work that Segway did about 15 years ago helped to make it possible for us to ride EUCs, but the laws still need to be adjusted for the new technology.

There will be a time where you need a safety analysis to get an approval. We'll companies opting out in the next years and other innovative companies will replace them and push the business forward.
