Assailant shouted ‘Where is Nancy?’ in break-in at speaker’s home, attack on Paul Pelosi

The husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was attacked during an early-morning break-in at the couple’s San Francisco home by an assailant who was searching for the speaker and shouted, “Where is Nancy?,” according to a person briefed on the case.

The assailant was looking for the speaker and, before assaulting Paul Pelosi, shouted, “Where is Nancy, where is Nancy,” according to an individual who was briefed on the attack. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe details.

An initial report says that the suspect used a hammer in the attack, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the investigation.

The official spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk freely about the incident.

The U.S. Capitol Police said in a statement that it is assisting the FBI and San Francisco police in an investigation of the break-in and attack.

Well that went away quickly. The initial reports said that when they arrived a 3rd person let the police in where they say Paul struggling with the assailant in their underwear and then he struck Paul. A few hours later they changed the story. Then they said he broke in downstairs but the glass in the picture was from someone breaking it from inside clearly. Also the initial report from the captain stated that Paul referred to him as a family friend and called him by name. it's also funny that he is seen in several photos from January 6th filming in front of the capitol. 3rd in line for the presidency and no camera footage and no security alarms. Lies,Lies and more Lies.

Nearly every election-denying secretary of state candidate lost

Most of the most prominent election-denying secretary of state candidates either suffered a rebuke by voters or appeared headed toward one if the current vote tally trends hold.

In Michigan, Minnesota and New Mexico, Democrats prevailed over Republicans who said Donald Trump’s bid for president was stolen from him in 2020, despite no evidence of widespread problems. And in Pennsylvania, where the governor selects the secretary of state, Democrat Josh Shapiro overcame election-denying Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano.

Judge orders Alex Jones to pay $473 million more to Sandy Hook families

A Connecticut judge Thursday ordered Infowars founder Alex Jones and his company to pay an additional $473 million to the families of eight victims of the Sandy Hook shooting.

The families and an FBI agent sued Jones for spreading misinformation about the 2012 mass shooting in which 20 children and six teachers were killed in an elementary school in Newtown, Conn.

Judge Barbara Bellis’s order comes nearly a month after Jones was ordered to pay $965 million in damages to the families in the culmination of the multiyear legal battle.

I like what Trump accomplished during his presidency against all adversity, but he's to toxic and they will never stop trashing him on every news network so i think it's time for someone different. unfortunately that means the people attempting to destroy him have won the war but we here in the us need to come together rather than being forced apart. Although anyone is better than the feckless imbecile we have now. Talk about embarrassing.

Garland names special counsel for Trump Mar-a-Lago, 2020 election probes

Attorney General Merrick Garland has named a special counsel to oversee the criminal investigation into former president Donald Trump’s possible mishandling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago club and residence, as well as key aspects of the Jan. 6 investigation.

Garland announced his decision Friday afternoon, tapping Jack Smith, a longtime federal prosecutor who has in recent years been working at the International Criminal Court at The Hague. The announcement comes three days after Trump formally declared himself a 2024 candidate for president.

Elon Musk Reinstates Trump’s Twitter Account

Mr. Musk, who had asked Twitter users about whether to bring back the former president to the service, said, “The people have spoken.”

Elon Musk said on Twitter on Saturday that he would reinstate former President Donald J. Trump to the platform as part of a shake-up of the social media service, with Mr. Trump’s account quickly showing up again on the site.

Mr. Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion last month, had asked users on the platform starting late Friday afternoon about whether to allow Mr. Trump back onto the service. Twitter had barred Mr. Trump after the riot on Jan. 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol, saying his posts had run the risk of inciting violence.

More than 15 million votes were logged in answer to Mr. Musk’s question about whether to reinstate Mr. Trump, according to the results that Mr. Musk included in his tweet, with nearly 52 percent in favor of the former president returning to Twitter. Mr. Trump’s Twitter account went live shortly after, though the former president’s last tweet was from Jan. 8, 2021.

“The people have spoken,” Mr. Musk said on Twitter. “Trump will be reinstated.” He added the Latin phrase “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” which roughly means that the voice of the people is the voice of God.

Trump snubs Twitter after Musk announces reactivation of ex-president's account

Nov 19 (Reuters) - Donald Trump on Saturday said he had no interest in returning to Twitter even as a slim majority voted in favor of reinstating the former U.S. President, who was banned from the social media service for inciting violence, in a poll organized by new owner Elon Musk.

Slightly over 15 million Twitter users voted in the poll with 51.8% voting in favor of reinstatement.

"The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated," Musk tweeted.

Trump's Twitter account, which had over 88 million followers before he was banned on Jan. 8, 2021, began accumulating followers and had nearly 100,000 followers by 10pm ET Saturday. Some users initially reported being unable to follow the reinstated account on Saturday evening.

Trump had appeared less than keen earlier in the day.

"I don't see any reason for it," the former president said via video when asked whether he planned to return to Twitter by a panel at the Republican Jewish Coalition's annual leadership meeting.

He said he would stick with his new platform Truth Social, the app developed by his Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) startup, which he said had better user engagement than Twitter and was doing "phenomenally well".

Twitter did not respond to a request for comment.

Trump, who on Tuesday launched a bid to regain the White House in 2024, praised Musk and said he had always liked him. But Trump also said Twitter suffered from bots, fake accounts and that the problems it faced were "incredible".

Musk first said in May he planned to reverse the ban on Trump, and the timing of any return by Trump was closely watched - and feared - by many of Twitter's advertisers.

The billionaire has since sought to reassure users and advertisers that such a decision would be made with consideration by a content moderation council composed of people with "widely diverse viewpoints" and no account reinstatements would happen before the council convened.

He also said Twitter would not reinstate any banned users until there was a "clear process for doing so."

But this week, Musk reinstated comedian Kathy Griffin, who had been banned for changing her profile name to "Elon Musk" which violated his new rule against impersonation without indicating it was a parody account. There has been no new information about process or the moderation council.

NO REASON TO RETURN

A no-show by Trump could reduce concerns among major advertisers, who are already rattled by Musk's drastic reshaping of Twitter.

He has halved the workforce and severely cut the company's trust and safety team, which is responsible for preventing the spread of misinformation and harmful content.

These actions and Musk's tweeting have pushed major companies to halt advertising on the site as they monitor how the platform handles hate speech.

On Saturday, Bloomberg reported Twitter could fire more employees in its sales and partnership divisions, citing unnamed sources, just days after a mass resignation of engineers.

If Trump returned to Twitter, the move would raise questions about his commitment to Truth Social, which launched on Apple’s App Store in February and Google’s Play Store in October. Trump has some 4.57 million followers on Truth Social.

Truth Social has been Trump’s main source of direct communication with his followers since he began posting on the app regularly in May. He has used Truth Social to promote his allies, criticize opponents and defend his reputation amid legal scrutiny from state, congressional and federal investigators.

His agreement with the company, however, opens the door for Trump to engage extensively on other platforms. Trump is obligated to give Truth Social a six-hour exclusive on any post – but is free to post "political messaging, political fundraising or get-out-the vote efforts" on any site, at any time, according to a May SEC filing.

Supreme Court denies Trump request to withhold tax returns from Congress

The Supreme Court on Tuesday denied former president Donald Trump’s efforts to block the release of his tax records to a congressional committee that has sought the information for years.

The court’s order means that the Treasury Department may quickly hand over six years of tax records from Trump and some of his companies to the House Ways and Means Committee.

How to sell a massacre Part 1

Three-year undercover sting reveals how US’s National Rifle Association handles public opinion after deadly gun attacks.

How should you respond to a deadly mass shooting if you are a gun rights advocate?

First, “Say nothing.”

If media queries persist, go on the “offence, offence, offence”.

Smear gun control groups. “Shame them” with statements such as – “How dare you stand on the graves of those children to put forward your political agenda?”

This was the advice the US’s most powerful gun lobby gave Australia‘s One Nation party, according to an Al Jazeera investigation, when representatives of the Australian far-right group sought guidance from the National Rifle Association (NRA) on loosening the Pacific country’s strict gun laws.

The NRA’s playbook on mass shootings came to light during the course of a three-year undercover sting by Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit.

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes guilty of Jan. 6 seditious conspiracy

A federal jury on Tuesday convicted Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes and a top deputy of seditious conspiracy for leading a months-long plot to unleash political violence to prevent the inauguration of President Biden, culminating in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

The panel of seven men and five women deliberated for three days before finding Rhodes and lead Florida Oath Keeper Kelly Meggs guilty of conspiring to oppose by force the lawful transition of presidential power.

But three other associates were not convicted of the historically rare and politically freighted sedition count.

All five were convicted of obstructing Congress as it met to confirm the results of the 2020 election.

Both offenses are punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was convicted Nov. 29 of seditious conspiracy in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

Trump’s dinner with antisemites provides test of GOP response to extremism

Republicans are showing increasing willingness to criticize Trump over his meeting with white nationalist Nick Fuentes and Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West who has issued anti-Jewish diatribes

Former president Donald Trump’s refusal to apologize for or disavow the outspoken antisemites he dined with last week is setting him increasingly at odds with leaders of his own party, providing the first test of his political endurance since launching his third run for the White House.

The fracas is also testing how Republicans will handle the party’s extreme fringe in the months ahead after years of racist, misogynist and antisemitic speech flooding into the political bloodstream during the Trump era.

Check your 401(k)'s fine print! Because now Biden wants to raid YOURS to fund net zero and 'diversity'. But why should his woke agenda put your retirement at risk, demands ANDY PUZDER

The Biden administration is putting your retirement money at risk in pursuit of their woke leftist agenda.

The evening before Thanksgiving to avoid unwanted attention, Biden's Department of Labor released an Orwellian new rule misnamed 'Prudence and Loyalty in Selecting Plan Investments and Exercising Shareholder Rights.'

Don't let the mind-numbingly bureaucratic gobbledygook distract you.

The rule interprets a law that requires fund managers make investment decisions for the sole benefit of the Americans who depend on those assets.

That's certainly both a good and reasonable policy. And at one time, it was bipartisan.

Congress passed ERISA (the Employee Retirement Income Security Act) in 1974. The law makes it crystal clear that those managing such assets must do so 'solely' in the interest of and for the 'exclusive purpose' of 'providing benefits to participants and their beneficiaries.'

This patently clear language provides no basis for investing assets to prioritize – say – saving the planet, achieving 'equity,' or in any way advancing wokeism.

Well, enter the Biden Administration and 'environmental, social and governance' – or ESG – investing.

ESG is a set of ill-defined, non-financial investment criteria used to screen potential investments based on how well a company is pursuing certain social or political goals.

Getting nervous?

ESG gained prominence in 2005 when a United Nations-sponsored group of international investors established six 'Principles for Responsible Investment' (PRI).

The Principles include a pledge to 'incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.'

McCarthy to Jan. 6 Panel: Save All Your Findings for GOP Investigators

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 unrest at the Capitol has largely gone unchallenged in recent months, since the allegations levied against former President Donald Trump and other prominent conservatives weren't subject to cross-examination.

Beginning in January, though, the House Republicans could be going on offense.

On Wednesday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., told the House select committee to preserve its findings from the Capitol rally — including information that didn't make it into the panel's final report.

In a letter to Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the Jan. 6 committee chair, McCarthy wrote, "I remind you and your staff on the committee to preserve all records collected and transcripts of testimony taken during your investigation."

The letter from McCarthy — who's on track to becoming House speaker when the Republican-controlled Congress convenes on Jan. 3 — also might have been a warning to the panel, which comprises seven Democrats and two lame-duck Republicans (Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois), who often sparred with Trump in public.

"Some reports suggest that entire swaths of findings will be left out of the committee's final report," wrote McCarthy. "The official Congressional Records do not belong to you or any member, but to the American people, and they are owed all of the information you gathered — not merely the information that comports with your political agenda."

Prior to the midterm elections taking place, House Republicans were vocal in predicting change with the Jan. 6 investigative process, promising full transparency once the GOP seized the congressional majority.

In that vein, McCarthy's letter to the Jan. 6 panel seemingly backs up the pledges made in September, October and November.

Also, in July, House Republicans reportedly penned a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, demanding the release of surveillance footage from Jan. 6 — including from police body cameras.

Reports estimate that more than 14,000 hours of Jan. 6 surveillance footage have yet to go public.

"Many Americans question why their government, and the department in particular, has been so selective in its release of footage," the House Republicans' letter read. "We believe all Americans, including members of Congress, the media and the public at-large, should be able to view footage from January 6th that the department has in its possession."

As Axios reported in February, the House Republicans conducted their own investigation into the Jan. 6 incident and determined the Capitol security apparatus for that day led to "negligence at the highest levels," according to Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind.

Banks reportedly told Axios the GOP investigators had "absolutely" uncovered new information.

McCarthy reaffirmed Banks' stance by saying that Capitol security failures would be addressed in January, according to Axios.

No , It's another attempt to control the populations money and use it as they see fit. This administration has proven time and time again corruption knows know bounds. they are even saying the quiet part out loud. China is pulling the strings in case anyone is keeping score. It's humiliating honestly.
