Need help choosing between Ninebot or IPS

I am trying to decide between the Ninebot One E+ and the IPS 191. Has anyone had experience with both? I am unsure whether I can trust the manufacturers' given specs. I prefer the looks of the Ninebot but it might be worth getting the IPS for the extra speed and range. I have also heard that the Ninebot is more comfortable.

I've had experience with both, and I own the IPS 191 (aka the Lhotz).

My advice would be to go with the 'bot as it's better made, slimmer in profile and has a stronger customer support base (plus support videos on YouTube) if something goes wrong or you need to disassemble.

The Lhotz though is a fantastic wheel. I went for it because I fell in love with the look of it, and the wider tyre gives greater stability at low speed. The motor is nice and torque-y too. Speed wise, it will indeed do 30, but the beeping that starts from 22 onwards is irritating. On a plus note the Lhotz gives no tilt back until 27kph. Even at low battery. Which is great.

All wheels exaggerate their range in my opinion. On my Lhotz I get about 25-30 (74kg male, ride around 22kph).

To be honest you can't go wrong with either. Both great machines.

Thanks for your input. Also according to the post below, the official IPS homepage is http://en.iamips.com/. On there it claims the Lhotz top speed is 19.9 km/h and the max distance is 30km, which is similar to the Ninebot. At http://www.ipselectricunicycle.com/, however it reaffirms the 30 km/h top speed.

you can also go for the Ninebot P or preorder/wait a bit for KS16 (would by my pick for a 16inch wheel)

The Ninebot P was cancelled, sadly.

The Ninebot P hasn't been cancelled, but it looks like the next batch won't be getting to official distributors until April.

In terms of the Lhotz speed, the 30km/h is unlocked after a certain amount of km are achieved (usually 50km or 100km). However there are a couple of alternative apps to the official one you can download that unlock the full speed immediately, so you don't have to wait.

From http://www.ninebotus.com/ninebot-one-p-pro/ "We received word today that the Ninebot One Pro has been discontinued and will no longer be produced."

IamIPS doesn't update their english website as frequently as they should.

Better take a look at their chinese site www.iamips.com or on the resellers site http://ipselectricunicycle.com/

The Lhotz is very stable, and has a wide tyre, and a strong outer shell, ideal for a newby.

Be careful here though not all Lhotz unicycles do 30 km/h. IPS offers international models of many unicycles which maxes out at 19.9 km/h. For example in Sweden all IPS unicycles sold locally max out at 19,9 km/h due to legislation. You will likely have to specify that you want the 30 km/h version, which could also mean that you get generic noname batteries unlike you again ask them about it (i.e. a unicycle meant for the Chinese market not for international customers).

Just ask them and you'll be fine.

I had the same question on the table a month ago. I ended up to order Lhotz.
Both wheels are well built, strong, quite stable. While disassembling my Lhotz I was impressed - I could be made in Europe, well assebled, well designed. Like 9b1. But after I read all the reviews I found and tested C+, I was already second guessing, maybe 9b1 would turn out just some middle ground wheel on the way to better one.

After I got my Lhotz, from very first day with it I knew my choice was spot on.
I wanted a stable wheel for dual sport purposes: commuting and trail riding, not any big&heavy brick like GW18, nor any sad 14". Probably range is about the same for both, both are very safe wheels, continuos max. power in Lhotz somewhat higher, 9b1 something less than 0.5kg lighter, Lhotz You can attach to a bike rack (9b1 You can't).

@stasj based on C+ - Lhotz is a lot more comfortable. Pedals support bit toes better, perhaps more room all around and You don't even notice the smallest bumps and holes thanks to the bigger air space on tire (I You can't fit actually 64-67mm tire to 9b1, just doesn't have room for it)

I have an IPS Lhotz340 and T680+

These are no flashy lightweight wheel, they are very solid, with a powerfull engine, very stable to ride and with good safety features.

The 340 and 680 models have Japanese batteries, which makes these versions a bit more expensive. Personally I do NOT buy anything with chinese batteries (performance, fire hazard, etc.).
