On January 8, 2022 around 8 pm my V11 was stolen during a delivery run. I'm posting on this forum because I assume that the person who stole it will try to sell it. Here is a description of my wheel:

Wheel: Inmotion V11 w/ Honeycomb pedals, blue and white reflective tape on it and a Monorides sticker on the side.

The Serial Number: 14C13A121F6C018C

Thanks

Man that sucks. Can you lock the wheel remotely via the app?

Was it someone that knew how to use it and rode off? Or did they grab and run?

I’m sure it will be on Craigslist soon. Were you insured?

Hope you collect it. Sending some good vibes your way.

Would the EUC app tour tracker work in locating it?

I think the app shows the GPS location of the phone the wheel is connected to.

Perhaps when a rider logs into EUC world with the app, (or any app) the wheel's identity is logged?

I just checked a log from one of my tours on EucWorld.  It does log the serial number of the wheel.

Ok, great.

Perhaps it might be possible then that if and when a person logs into EUC world, the wheel identity and location/movements will be recorded.....as this would be the EUC tour tracker data.

Not proof that the person in possession of it was the thief, but police detectives would be able to at least return it to rightful owner, hopefully.

Did you simply leave it outside, unchained? Where you could not see it?

It's kind of you're fault there, won't lie.. You know people steal. It's like leaving 2000$ on side of road, It will be gone in 30 secs..

Hope you find it. If not, at least you learned expensive lesson. Now you can buy new wheel. <3 Bring bike chain next time.

Dude that hurts to hear and I'm sorry it happened to you.

If you recover it, what do you think about putting a Tile or Apple tracker inside the wheel after disassembling it? That what I'm doing- not a perfect solution but considering how hard they are to disassemble, it could buy me some time to track down a thief.

GPS tracker using SIM card might be a possible idea.

Very small, magnetic, easy to conceal, not reliant on Apple users in vicinity.

That settles it for me. These "stolen" threads are getting too frequent. Even though i never leave my EUC in public, even for a second, i'm going to invest in some GPS tracker now.

EUCs are no longer a fringe futuristic vehicle it's becoming normal and known, and every day more people can identify it and ride it.

Don't take this the wrong way, but leaving an EUC unlocked in 2022 is like leaving the keys in your convertible and turning on a neon sign saying " expensive unlocked car" and walking away.

I've even heard a story of a guy letting some stranger try his wheel for a second in public, because he seemed genuinely unaware of what an EUC is. The second the stranger was on the wheel he took off never to be seen again.

Also for expensive stolen goods i would imagine most criminals with 2 braincells to rub together would either have it sold in another area/state or at the very least let it "cool off" before selling.

Best of luck in your recovery attempt!

Magnetic tracker does not need installation, easy to attach/remove.

Recharge every few days, same as charging the wheel.

You have to hide somewhere in euc, where thief can't get to it right..? How can you get to it for easy recharging?

Maybe find a spot somewhere on the wheel that is hidden from view, and easy to access to attach/remove the tracker.

The spot does not need to be metal.

Can maybe use silicone to glue a small piece of metal to the spot.

The tracker can then be hidden from view, and easily attached/removed for charging.

A thief is probably not going to suspect or realise there is a tracker on the wheel if it is hidden.

Well for 18xl there is sadly no hiding spots, maybe under mud guard. < Joke :D

GPS trackers that use sim card are on bigger side..

Could dremel a little hole for charging. xD

We already have threads about devices to track a wheel....

I was gna suggest to NOT mention the wheel PUBLICLY here. If a thief were to think of selling, they could notice you have warned us. Perhaps it would be better to simply notify a few people (regulars) in PM's and check back regular on the sales section? If you see it here or ebay or craigslist, you could always inquire as a buyer would. Perhaps ask for screenshots that include serial #'s. Or ask about the number to 'verify' some date of manufacture or revision concerns? Maybe youll find it and meet up with the seller. Pretend you're interested and dont know much about them, then ride off.. Its been done before...

Posting this for a rider friend, VT of PowerTrip.NYC repair shop / NPS fame:

The Story:

One of VT's guys cutsout in the Bronx on his Gotway MSP and goes unconscious, only to find the next day he's completely robbed of everything on him, including the wheel.

Genius thief, he posts the below on FB Marketplace (middle left), easily recognizable by the after-market pads and bolt-thru's, not to mention no one in their right mind would sell their legitimately owned MSP for $300 USD.

Found my friend’s stolen unicycle and got it back
